My spouse and I have stayed in many hotels around the world, the Oxford is definitely among the finest. From the moment you check in you start to see & feel their first class service. The staff is amazing, professional & ready to do whatever it takes to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Of course the attitude of making the guest feel special starts from the top, Reinaldo & Dilia, hotel owners. They make it a point to meet their guests & assure that you are satisfied. In addition to the wonderful service the hotel is very clean, well kept & modern. The breakfast buffet is not your ordinary & boring continental breakfast. You start your day with a taste of Colombia; fresh fruit, variety of breads, colombian cheese or guava breads, carimañolas, arepitas empanaditas, deditos, queso costeño, recalentao & fresh scrambled eggs. Of course a nice cup of Colombian coffee or chocolate caliente. The hotel restaurant also serves great tasting meals for lunch and dinner. |All in all our stay at the Oxford could not have been better. If you are looking for a nice hotel where you can be catered to & feel relaxed & pampered by the staff & owners ... stay at the Oxford. Going forward & as long as Reinaldo & Dilia are the owners, the Oxford will always be our go to hotel in...
Read moreThe hotel is supposedly a 4 star hotel, however I'd say it is a rip off both price and service wise. We stayed there for 3 nights during the 2018 carnaval, and sure it does have a good location and a ill-managed roof top terrace with a pool and limited space for sun bathing, which is a plus regardless of the contradictory description, but it was not an impressive stay. The room - which was clean and all, had a window facing some sort of ventilation shaft, leading to the humming noise of numerous A/Cs all night. One should get a serious discount for that. ||||The breakfast was not a treat. Not enough tables for the guests and the staff were insisting to help you with the fruit servings, instead of focusing on 1. clearing the tables 2. making sure everyone seated had what they wished, including hot and cold drinks which were not available from the bufé 3. refilling the food on the bufé. One would think that a manager could lead the staff in a way that make them capable of dealing with the rush of carnaval tourism, but no. ||||All staff were nice and polite but they really need to improve their service skills - and learn to keep...
Read moreI can't rave enough about how wonderful this hotel was! They treated us like royalty! ||||Bell hop service, Waited on for breakfast (complimentary breakfast), we mentioned to the front desk that our wifi was slow because we were the last room in the hallway and they brought us our own router within 5 minutes. The front desk answered all of our questions with patience and enthusiasm (not begrudgingly as I've experienced with so many other hotels). ||||We even met the owner and he warmly welcomed us and made sure we hadn't had any problems!||||When we were told the price per night, I couldn't believe it! The rooms were spacious, comfortable, had a chair and a desk, bed was one of the best I've ever slept on, shower was hot, plenty of closet space. Some of the rooms even come with a balcony.||||It was within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, cafe's, grocery stores, and we were there as carnival was starting and the parades passed right by our corner! (Yet in our rooms was complete quiet.)||||Look no further people, just book the hotel. You will NOT be...
