The only positive point in here was mosquito net. When you get off the speed boat, you only have to walk 5 min or less to get to Campo Verde. As there is no running water at many of the hostels on the island, there is a bucket system for flushing. Here at Campo Verde, there are two buckets: one relatively cleaner water for shower(there are visible worms and insects moving at the bottom of this bucket, wish I took a video of them dancing there) and another one (dirt water, maybe laundry water) for flushing which is outside the cabin, you have to fill up a small bucket take it inside the room while it's dripping all over. I checked out other hostels on the island, but they at least at a shower and only one for flushing. This place is managed by a mother and a daughter who do not even bother to properly welcome you and maybe give you information about the island. They gave us bikes to ride to town to get cash as they don't accept cards, only when we returned we realized that we have to pay for them not to mention that the bikes don't even have brakes!! Lights and fans went out after two hours of use after dusk, and they said its a solar energy, that's why!!! The rooms are not properly insulated, so we saw all kinds of bugs and a big rat. I hope this review bring their attention to make changes to their accommodation since there are much nicer ones in their neighborhood within the same...
Read moreThis is a hard review to write as Miss Danny is a lovely lady. The hostel/hotel however has not been well maintained. Fortunate for us, we don't mind if living arrangements are a bit rough if everything else around is beautiful which that island was especially our snorkeling tour.
Our room had no electricity nor did the hotel have wifi nor could we pay by card when we asked to extend our stay. The listing said we had the 1st two and the owner offered the 3rd when we asked to extend. The water in the shower smelled so bad of sulfur that one wanted to throw up if turned on. The beds have bedbugs, and so we now also need to deal with not taking those home during our final days in Columbia.
Overall, even though we enjoyed our time on Isla Grande, I would recommend not staying at Campo Verde nor would I return there until I see multiple reviews stating the issues have...
Read moreIm split minded about this place, the hosts were just ok, gave me a greedy vibe at the beginning not letting me know where i can buy stuff, though im used to this thing. The are hammocks and sitting space, they can make you food, the shower is by bucket and no access to charging inside the room, only in a specific room in their cabin. The ventilator might stop working at night as its provided solar energy:) theres a mosquito net though. Payed 60 mil cop a night. Oh no signal or wifi. On the island in general, the signal only works at the fancier resorts and the beaches,...
