Great family-run posada at a fair price. The WiFi her was surprisingly quite good also. We liked that you could sit on the tables with a view of the mountains at breakfast.
The best thing about this hostel were the women cooking in the kitchen - they were so wonderful, friendly and accommodating! There's really very limited eating options in El Cocuy and it's really handy to have a restaurant inside the posada to eat at. We had all our breakfasts and dinners here, and the women cooking kindly made us platos vegetarianos every night. Breakfast is simple coffee, fruits and eggs. Our dinner was a huge plate of rice, salad, vegetables, fried eggs and potatoes. It was great food for hungry hikers! Breakfast cost 10,000 per person and dinner 20,000 per person. We felt these prices were very fair too.
The hostel itself has a nice courtyard with tables. The rooms are small but big enough. We paid 60,000 for a double. There's no window glass though and as it's cold you mostly need the windows closed which unfortunately means the room is dark. The room is kept clean at a surface level and the bed is made daily. However it does need more of a deep and thorough clean as the bathroom walls could do with a scrub and there was dust behind the headboard and on the ceiling pillars.

For the next day, we booked a hiking tour to the national park (ask for Jairo, he is the best) and got a private one, this was amazing! We had to depart for the tour really early in the morning, at 4am, but the hotel prepared a breakfast package for us with a sandwich, some eggs and a juice, what a service! And the last day, we had to catch our bus likewise really early (at 6:30am) and the personal just got up because of us and prepared us a delicious fresh breakfast with eggs, bread, fruits and a coffee.
