This is by far the dirtiest hotel I have stayed in. Upon checking, we noticed that there were many hairs in not only the floor of the bathroom but leg shavings and pubic hair all over the shower. The cleaning lady attempted to clean the bathroom but was unsuccessful. Then the front desk lady (Sadie..I think) came upstairs to clean the bathroom. The bathroom was so dirty that she spent 30 mins cleaning it…mind you this was at 9:00 pm at night. The fridge was filthy. We had to buy Lysol and wipes to clean it. The desk had a 1inch layer of dirt. The white chair was so dirty it was off-white. The bed had no blanket, only a sheet. There was no hot water. The rug on the floor was full of dirt. And to put a cherry on top, we were assigned a room that overlooked the club that played music until 6.am. When we complained the gentleman at the front desk said he was aware of the club music and that on Saturday night, it was worse. We informed the front desk that we were requesting a refund for the second night because it was impossible to stay another night. The front desk girl from the night before (I think Sadie) said that she could not cancel it and in fact, we needed to cancel with booking.com. I did so. I also recorded the conversation and took a pic of the key turnin because she would not provide proof. Of course I knew that it would be an issue later. When I disputed with booking.com, the hotel said they do not give refunds…..even though it was impossible to stay in the room. ||||This is a ploy to try to keep a customers money even though the hotel breached the contract. This hotel is a fraud. I highly recommend that you do...
Read moreProbably the most difficult review I've done. I'd love to give a 5 as the owners of the hotel are probably the friendliest that I've ever met!||||We were greeted when we arrived by the owner of the hotel. Not only is he the owner but along with his wife he designed the hotel and supervised it's construction. They both work long hours at the hotel carrying out a wide range of duties including reception, maintenance and kitchen. ||||We were escorted to our room and the first ting we noticied was a strong smell of humidity. We hoped that the smell would dissipate when we put the air-con on but after a few hours it was still very strong. We ased to move rooms and the owners were very accommodating. The room that we were moved to still smelled of humidity but just not quite so strong. Considering that the rooms had air con blankets should be provided. My wife had to ask for blankets and it seemed to cause some confusion but they were eventually provided.||||The restauarant was very quite but the food was delicious. I ordered a prawn dish and it was fantastic. I ordered a bottle of wine and was charged 90,000 which was their cheapest. The next night the same bottle of wine in a different hotel was 50,000 which was far more realistic considering it was an off the shelf Chilean wine.||||Overall it's a very good hotel and I'd stay there again just for the customer service but at the moment it's only...
Read moreHotel Yubarta turned out to be an excellent choice in many ways. The location, right along a strip of bars and restaurant, could be a little noisy at night but the hotel made sure to give us a room facing away from the noise. The room itself was spacious and clean. The highlight of our stay however was the hotel restaurant where we had our best meals in Colombia to date and meeting owners James and Maria, who double as chefs. Our dinner of fish with coco rice and fried plantain was beyond delicious. The fish was nicely marinated with a purée of herbs and spices and steamed instead of fried. For lunch the following day, we were served giant prawns cooked to perfection in a nicely spiced light coconut sauce...
