Hotel Avanty — Hotel in Ipiales

This hotel met all of needs. We arrived after a getting stuck on a bus from Popayan for 13 hours due to traffic issues so arrived late, tired and grumpy. The night porter checked us in quickly and without issue. The room was clean and really comfortable. There was a mini bar which was welcome as we hadn't had chance to eat or drink much during the bus journey, and it was reasonably priced. The place was really quiet so we got a good nights sleep which was well needed.||Breakfast was great and the waiter was very polite, kind and friendly and offered me fruit​ when I said I couldn't eat eggs. ||Reception staff helped us in ordering taxis to the pretty church (worth a look) and to the border. ||All in all a great stay and for such good value. We really found this hotel perfect for a stop over coming from Ecuador and heading for Popayan. The staff were very helpful ordering a taxi for us to the cable car station to go to Las Lajas and the next morning to the bus station. Very comfortable bed with super warm soft cover (because nights could be cold) and great shower with lots of hot water too. An added bonus is that breakfast starts at 07:00 perfect for us who had a bus to catch at 08:00. Also very near the restaurants in the centre. Really good...

Unfortunately I cannot go e a food review. They didn't have hot water for two days, guess was bad management since they forgot to turn on the pump. Also didn't have water first day. Breakfast was good, but I paid extra for better portion. I hope they fix the water issues since this is just basic. WiFi was working fine. Location is good.
