The hotel is on a one way Main Street. Access to the reception area is up steps and entry through double glass doors. The reception area is clean and bright but very cold; the reception staff are wearing gloves and scarves.

The person working reception was very helpful, but spoke no English. Our stay was for only one night; we needed two rooms. The reception person offered for us to see the rooms; this we did, and found the rooms to be clean, but were very cold and they had no form of heating.

At this point, he offered us suites to look at because they have as a feature a gas fireplace. The first one was nice with a sitting room and a separate bedroom; the second was larger .

The room rate that we were quoted was for a standard room, but we were able to get the suites at that standard rate.

In the room, the bed was very comfortable, the TV placement was good. From there, it went downhill- no bedside lights, no office desk light, no charging station, and so on.

Breakfast was served in a very spacious dining area, but very cold. The staff were serving wearing gloves and scarves. Anyway, the breakfast was quoted as American, but that was lost in the translation. They had several choices; the food was good, but meager portions, coffee was good, fruit juice was bad, did not taste fresh or have a great deal of fruit in it- was not able to finish the juice.

Overall, the stay was good. The amount of water wasted waiting for it to get hot is criminal in these days of conserving resources.

The lack of evacuation signage is frightening and somewhat concerning from a permitting standpoint.

The lack of a mission statement and basic information folder in the room did make it hard to understand how the place was able to obtain its permits of occupation and its 3 Star rating.

The room temperature was, according to my phone, 14 degrees C. That made it colder inside the building than it was outside.

Here is what the room did not have:

Entry door security viewer

Room ID in Braille

Carbon monoxide detector

No smoke alarm

Posted evacuation plan

Occasional table in the seating area

Center piece

Desk light

Charging station

1 trash bin in the bathroom only

Paper, pens

Folder with hotel information

Tea and coffee making materials

Glasses and water

Useable size refrigerator

Bed side lights

Dimmer for lights

Wheelchair accessible toilet

Only one glass in the bathroom

No grab handle above the bathtub

Shower door opens inwards-bad for safety purposes

No light in shower

Extractor not working

No grab handle in shower

Toilet door opens inwards

No grab handle on toilet

No bidet

No urinal

No seats in bathroom

No hot water recirculating system

There is an electrical outlet (not GFI) by the side of the bathtub, just in case you want to...

My husband & I visited Ipiales in June and because we are minorities here, we are extra cautious & mindful. Safety is always #1! This means staying at the best hotel Ipiales has to offer & not wandering around outside after dark. For the most part, there’s alot of traffic outside & we decided to just get comfortable in our beautiful suite. We ran a hot bath, turned on the fire pit, watched some tv, ordered food from the cafe inside the hotel, and snuggled in a king sized bed. This was the perfect ending to a perfect day at Las Lajas Cathedral! 5 stars for the Loft Hotel for customer service, cleanliness, and a great price for a suite on a Monday night for 374,000 Colombian pesos ($90.00USD)! Dinner (I got the shrimp & veggie stir fry & my husband had a chicken sandwich, with 2 bottles of water) was 100,000 Colombian pesos ($25.00USD). Before checking out the next day, a complimentary breakfast of fruit, OJ, coffee, an arepa & croissant w/butter & jelly, and scrambled eggs w/mushrooms is included in the cafe on the 3rd floor. (It’s the “Frances” in the menu.) I highly recommend staying at the Loft Hotel when...

Beautiful, comfortable and clean rooms. I am a African-American traveler and as a tourist the receptionists and all hotel staff made me feel welcomed. It’s a little more expensive than other hotels in the area but it’s worth the price. I felt safe from check in until checkout. I almost forgot to mention that the breakfast was great as well. I definitely...

Brand New hotel. The check in was really good but special fast. Breakfast 🥞 quite nice. Location and room are perfectly fine. Service OTW to getting better. In general is a good option.
