Hotel Torre De Cristal — Hotel in Ipiales

Thus is a place where the owner is trying hard to make it work. Sorry to say that it did not work for us. The room was nice, there were no bedside lights , the heater did not work and the wifi was poor and kept dropping out. We complained about the cold and they provided extra heavy blankets, that did not help as they were so heavy that we could not move. Not a very comfortable night , we paid for 2 nights. The breakfast was included, went down hoping for the best, the restaurant area was nice but the breakfast was a disappointment. One bun a scrambled egg with chopped ham fruit juice and a coffee. We left that day and looked for a different hotel. We did not stay the second night and we did not ask for a refund . We were just happy to find a hotel that had a room that had heating and hot water. 60 years ago this would not have been an issue,...

Excellent value: Affordable, with breakfast included, and our room was huge, clean, and even had a jacuzzi. The location was good too, with an ATM, shops, and restaurants close by, and the bus terminal just a short taxi ride away.

Our room was quiet (on a higher floor), though some of the furniture was really old and should be replaced. From what I read, it seems some rooms might already be renovated or refurbished. The sink layout was also very impractical, since it was hard to keep the water inside when washing hands.

I booked the hotel in advance and for what I paid I was not expecting such a nice hotel. The room is appointed simply but nicely. A desk to work at, a large bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. It is cold here at nights but the two heavy blankets and quilt on top let me enjoy a toasty nights sleep. There is warm water in the bathroom which is a luxury in small places in Colombia. I was told that the wi-fi would only work in the common area, (which is quite comfortable), but found that it worked perfectly in my room. The hotel is quiet.
