FAVORITE place we stayed in 5+ months of travel (tied with a jungle resort in Bali that had two pools and a floating breakfast..). It feels like you’re coming home every time you walk in the door.

Pros: We LOVED La Casa de Minca SOO SOO much! It’s literally the house of my dreams, so beautifully decorated with so many cozy areas to relax in, all of which you have access to- couches, rocking chairs, arm chairs, tables inside and out, cushioned area outside for a nap in the sun, yoga shala. Steps away from Rio Minca- the sound of the river can be heard inside the house and is so relaxing. Beautiful view of mountains and surrounded by gorgeous garden and greenery. A little bit outside of town which means it’s 100% quiet yet easily accessible to restaurants, etc. by foot in 5-10 minutes. The host Maria is SO kind, helpful, and has TOP NOTCH customer service. Full use of kitchen which is well equipped for cooking with pots/pans/utensils in good shape. Comfortable bed, clean room, modern bathroom. Good WiFi, the perfect place for concentration and motivation to get work done. Unlimited coffee/tea, filtered water. I would have loved to stay longer and would never consider anywhere else in Minca!!

Cons: no AC, but couldn’t find anywhere in Minca that had it and there are fans everywhere throughout the house which are enough; down a long dirt road which gets muddy when it rains - fine if you just have a backpack but would be challenging with luggage - we took a taxi both ways to/from Santa Marta and I would recommend it if you have luggage (Maria arranged it for us - 80,000 from Taganga, cheaper to Santa Marta) — Maria actually said her brother could help us get the luggage to the road if we wanted to take the colectivo bus but when we followed up with her to arrange, she realized he would be out of town and she arranged a taxi on the house for us!...

Just YES!!! Do yourself a favor and book it!! Jorge's place was probably the most gorgeous airbnb I've stayed in, and I've stayed in a LOT of airbnbs haha. He renovated / designed the place himself and it looks like it's straight out of a magazine. Cinematic view of the incredible forest from the spacious living area and outside porch area. The shared living spaces are a lot more spacious than you can tell in the photos. His homemade breakfast was amazing!! Like seriously better than most restaurant food + strong delicious coffee. You can take a dip in the river that's only a few minutes walk from the property. It's at the end of a little street so it's super serene, but just a short walk from the little town. Jorge is super welcoming and helpful and we truly felt at home at his place, and we had a great time going out together! He also helped us arrange a car back, which was way more comfortable than the regular taxis. All around just an amazing experience, highly...

I cannot express enough how beautiful, peaceful, and accommodating this home has been. By far my favorite airbnb to this day and is exactly as pictured in photos. I will always book here if I should return to Minca. It’s an easy walk from the micro bus stop about 10 min walk. The home is secluded to a corner at the end of the road. As soon as you get to the location you are welcomed by an amazing garden and the most amazing hosts that give you a quick tour of the home. The communal space is ample and airy and cool. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking.

The main reason I booked here was because I needed to ensure that I had internet to work remotely. It worked so well and was able to make teams calls. While rain may mess with the strength of the connection I was still able to work in one of communal spaces just fine.

I highly highly recommend this spot to absolutely anyone who wants easy mornings, need internet, and comfortable...
