Not a place to go if you wish for peaceful sleep.
The réception area gives directly unto the corridor in which the rooms are located. At the end of the corridor is a wall. Because of the structure of the building, the sound reverberates and I can distinctly hear every conversation taking place at the reception and in the corridor, from my bed and with my door closed. I do not mind it in the day (it's a hostel after all). But last night a group of drunken men came back at 4am, singing and laughing directly in front of my door. The front desk staff did NOTHING to stop them until they finally went to bed. The same night at 7am, a big group of 15 / 20 guests arrived early, speaking and laughing extremely loud. They stayed at the reception talking until past 8am. Again the front desk staff was there the entire time and again did NOTHING to quiet them. Now as a guest myself I don't think I should have to get out of bed before 8am on a few hours of sleep to quiet a group of excited teenagers. That's what I expect the staff to do.
So that a big minus for my stay here. I arrived from a very long and difficult overnight bus ride and all I wanted was some sleep.
Apart from that, the facilities are 10/10 clean, the staff is nice (especially Alma, thank you so much for your warm welcome ❤️).
If the hostel would make sure to keep the loud guests in check then the stay would have...
Read moreWords cannot explain how clean and organized the hostel is. The owner, at times, pops in to check that everyone is doing good. Also, security and safety are top of their list. They have cameras, and they make sure all of your belonging are safe when you are out and about exploring the beautiful city of Medellin. We stayed in a private room, but they also had plenty of beds for large groups. The bathroom and showers are extremely clean, and people clean them twice daily.
They have a small kitchen but plenty of pots and pans to cook your meals and local small shops nearby if cooking isn't your thing. At times you will have a variety of guests from Europe and other areas of south and central America.
The place is quite silent, but you must remember it's in the city near the Museum District, so the streets are always busy.
Thank you for taking care of us and always recommending locations to visit. We will differently recommend it to our friends

Read moreWe really loved our stay at this hostel. Earlier this year the hostel changed its location, so everything is new. Felipe, the owner, lives in a flat right above the hostel and was around to help us or just to chat very often. He is very helpful and kind! Since we had an overall good experience here are our highlights and some negative points:
highlights: open air (with roof) community area to eat, hang out and watch netflix at tv Fully equipped and clean kitchen with stuff you can't find in many hostels, e.g. an orange press to prepare fresh juice friendly owner who helps you with every problem close to the metro line A (5 minutes to walk)
negative: there was a water pipe in our room, which made sounds from time to time; Actually there was an oppointment to dam these pipes which Felipe canceled so we could enlarge our stay, propably its fixed by now
Might sound like a commercial, but we really enjoied our...
