In Situ Restaurante: A Jewel in the Botanical Garden Nestled within the lush environs of the botanical garden, In Situ Restaurante is an oasis of culinary delight. The restaurant's decor is its first welcoming gesture, characterized by abundant light that bathes the space in warmth and elegance.
This is a place where the ambiance contributes as much to the dining experience as the food itself.
Speaking of service, it is nothing short of exceptional. Our server was not just attentive but impressively knowledgeable, offering insights and recommendations that enhanced our meal. Such customer service excellence is a rarity and deserves high praise.
The culinary presentation at In Situ is a visual feast. Each dish is crafted with an artist's touch, turning every meal into an Instagram-worthy moment. The Ensalada de atún rosado, which I had the pleasure of tasting, was a testament to this, combining flavors and textures in a harmonious symphony. My friends, who opted for the steak and salmon, echoed my sentiments about the taste – simply delicious.
However, perfection is elusive. The one aspect that detracted from our otherwise flawless experience was the payment system. It felt archaic and somewhat intrusive, requiring passport details for transaction processing. This unexpected end to our meal was a jarring contrast to the sophistication that In Situ otherwise embodies.
In summary, In Situ Restaurante is a gem – from its radiant decor and exceptional service to its gastronomical wonders. It's a near-perfect dining experience, slightly marred by an outdated payment process.
A solid 4-star experience, and with a modernized payment system, it could easily leap to a...

The starter (tiradito bravo) was quite fresh, however definitely lacked some spice/zesty marinade/citrucy flavor, i.e. it was pretty bland.
Out of the 2 main dishes - white fish and risotto + curry chicken: we could not decide what had less taste.
The "curry chicken" turned out to be chicken slightly marinated in curry. The rice accompanying it had a good texture, but no flavour.
The white fish was cooked well, but it almost felt like there was no seasoning to it. The only good thing about it was the side of risotto - that finally had some flavour. The bananas on the side were unnecessary.
And finally - the desert. Presentation was it was beautiful. Taste wise: you had to mix the ingredients in a particular order for it to taste well. First, take the spongy cake (avoiding the weird sour substance under it) and bathe it in molten chocolate, then roll it around in the earthy chocolate powder (don't try eating it solo) and finally spoon some ice cream...
Read moreWe really tried to get in to eat as it looks beautiful. However, when we walked in around 11:20 am they said they had closed for breakfast already and to come back at 12 pm. We went to the nearby parque explora and came back at 12 pm (going through the front entrance of the botanical park again…at least it’s free) and once we arrived there were some parties already seated but the restaurant was not full and had so many empty seats. We were told that there were no seats for us. Another foreigner couple was also turned away due to “full”. There was a person sitted at the bar and so we asked if we could sit at the bar—the seater went to the bartender and asked her something and she said no and he came back and said there was nothing he could do. It sucks because if he had told us when we came earlier it’s reservation only and to put our name down—we wouldn’t have had such high expectations and taken the time to come back. Everything was in Spanish-so if you can’t speak...
