We took a 3 day-2 night side trip to the Chikiluky from Cartagena and absolutely loved it. The hotel is very rustic, with simple construction, and limited electricity (only at night). It is mere steps from a swimmable section of the Caribbean, serves breakfast, has a small bar, beach chairs and umbrellas. The hotel is down the beach a ways away from the throngs of tourists that can clog Playa Blanca. At night the tourists all leave and the beach is peaceful and quiet. We reached the hotel by small boat taxi. Our two rooms were clean, bug-free, with beautiful sea views and breezes, and quiet. There is a resident parrot, Mathias, who repeatedly came to visit our room which absolutely delighted our two children. The hotel is run by a small staff and they delivered terrific service and constantly checked in with us to make sure everything was satisfactory. Our stay here was amazing and a highlight of our Colombian vacation. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable, tranquilo...

Staff members were also very organized - scheduled a pick up from my hotel and from there a staff member walked me to the boat. Felt very safe as a solo female traveler.
And the view - OH MY - one of the nicest ones I have seen and I have taken trips to over 40 countries. Do not hesitate to book this place. The accommodation is basic, but comfortable and you really won't be spending much time inside anyways.
BRING CASH THOUGH - there is a 10% fee for using cards and no...
