Posada Miss Portia — Hotel in Providence Island

After being sheltered in the usual hotels and guest houses, my expection was "Oh Well".||Miss Portia and her husband welcomed me as family from the minute I crossed their threshold.She is an extraordinary cook and their back garden supplies all the ingredients for her cuisine. Every fruit grows here and there is even a small front area for her seasonings. Ron her husband brings in the catch of the day. Her fruit juices are from the pick of their trees. Fertilizers have never touched this earth. She introduced me to Harold her nephew who chauffered me around this fantastic island. There is accommodation for backpackers, singles and families. Posada Miss Portia is directly in front of the Early Childhood Development, to be used as a landmark for taxi drivers from the catamaran or airport. Fishing and snorkeling...

Miss Portia and her family are the best! They treated us visitors like family and made sure we were safe and had everything at hand. She is an amazing person; during the storm lockdown she kindly offered us guests the best lunches I've tried in Colombia, purely due to her warm and generous way. The rooms and kitchen have everything one needs, and they take very good care of the cleanliness everywhere. The location is fantastic, walking distance to an amazing Dive Center (run by Sandra, a very kind Swiss lady), convenient stores, the best beach in my opinion in Providencia, and super cool restaurant Divino Niño with a great vibe and super diligent owner. What a lovely place! If you go to providencia definitely stay at Posada Miss Portia in Soutwest Bay. The beach is in walking distance. Also if you want to explore Freshwater Bay you can walk 30-40 minutes or take a moto. The posada is beautiful and very clean. The room and the bed are comfortable, they have air condition and a private bathroom. Also the balcony is very nice. The kitchen perfectly equipped so you can prepare your own meals. There is a mini market close by to buy food. And besides all that Portia and her family is so welcoming and warm hearted, help out with everything and have a solution for every issue. You can also rent bikes and scooters there to explore the island....
