Casa Tien — Hotel in Quindío

I had such a wonderful stay at Casa Tien, just 10 minutes drive outside Salento! 🌿 The location is perfect—close enough to town for easy access, but far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.

The hosts were absolutely fantastic—warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, even organising a cake, flowers, and balloons for my birthday! It was such a thoughtful touch and made the day unforgettable. 🎂🎉🌸

The house itself has such a special charm, surrounded by nature and filled with animals. Meeting their llama (and the other animals too!) was definitely a highlight and made the place feel even more magical and authentic to rural Colombia.

We originally intended to stay couple of nights but we extended our stay as we felt so welcomed. The place and the rooms as just magical and the breakfast delicious. We stayed in each room and everything was so tidy and clean.

During our stay Jerome and his family gave us such a comfortable feeling and made us feel this was our kind of personal home. Every wish we had was never an issue. It was no problem to store our bags as we checked out just for one night and he even booked a horse trip for us. He really has the sense of what guests need to feel warm and comfortable.

In the end I forgot my pants. Without even asking for it Jerome offered me to sent them to my next accommodation which in the end worked out. So a big thank you...

Le site propose deux cabanes propres et épurées avec douche et salle d eau. La terrasse offre une vue sur la vallée. L' accès se fait via un long escalier . Nous y avons passé 2 nuits et ca a été la douche froide pour nous. Le premier jour on arrive en fin de journée et on souhaite se doucher, le site internet promet la douche chaude, sauf que nous avons douché à l eau froide. J en ai informé notre guide qui a transmis l information au patron. Au repas ( que la belle mère avait cuisiné et qui était bon ) il nous a juste dit que la bouteille de gaz était vide et que c était la cause. Ok ca peut arriver mais un petit mot, une excuse aurait était la bienvenue. Deuxième jour on revient de notre marche et....rebelote pas d'eau chaude. Un peu agacé je me mets a la recherche du patron et je croise notre guide qui que j informe du problème. Le patron ou sa femme restent cachés dans un coin, sans intervenir, ils ne se sont pas montrés, ...et un peu plus tard un ouvrier a bricolé sur le chauffe eau..mais sans succès. C est notre guide qui nous informe qu'on peut se doucher dans la maison et en y allant je croise enfin le patron qui me dit:' ah ce technicien il y a travaillé il y a deux semaines'. C est facile de rejeter la responsabilité sur qnn qui ne peut pas se justifier surtout que c est lui en temps que patron qui est responsable! C est très mesquin de réagir comme ca et les excuses on les attend toujours!!! Autre aspect qui nous a semblé décalé - il y a toutes sortes d'animaux en cage (volailles, lapins de compagnie, tortues, chèvres, et lamas), tous dans de petites cages, pas un brin d'herbe. Dans le poulailler, il y avait aussi un paon qui n'a pas assez de place pour faire la roue. Nous n'avons pas compris...
