We spent 6 nights at the hotel, in the private cabin #11. This cabin has two double beds upstairs, a small kitchen with a gas stove, sink and some basic cutlery, plates etc. There is no microwave, however, they do have one accessible at all times near the main area. We have a 4 and 6 year old and they had an amazing time playing in the large private area around the cabin. There was also a nice lookout with a patio set. A heads up though, there are 68 stairs to get up there. It was hard with luggage. Fine if you can do it, but just a heads up for those with any concerns. Inside is nice but a little rustic. Not a 5 star but you should know that it's an ecohotel. It was my favorite place we stayed at in Colombia. It really has personality. But I'm an outdoors first person and not into bells, whistles and 5 star comfort. Price was outstanding compared to our hotel in Cartagena. |Kids absolutely loved the place. The highlight was the property dog, Lupita. So sweet and friendly. Staff was AMAZING. They organized all our taxis and airport transfer. Breakfast was simple, but good and always timely (Starts at 7:30). There are some dinner options, but no lunch. There are a few restaurants around 200m away. Porko's is the best by far. It is modern, the rest are not. |The grounds are very well maintained and beautiful. There is a river near by were you can kind of swim, but definitely can have a picnic. Santa Rita waterfall is within walking distance. Just note, the waterfall and river is cold. This is coming from Canadians! |Salento is about 10 min drive. Costs 20k. You an get everywhere from there using Willy's. Do not miss going to Finlandia. It is beautiful and an 8k Willy each way. |Overall. We really loved this place. It was perfect for what we wanted...
Read moreThe staff were absolutely delightful!||This is a kid and pet-friendly place, but also ideal for couples. Nicely set in well maintained gardens, complete with its own river.||A short taxi ride from Salento (or cramped bus journey) the setting is lovely. Breakfast is tasty and served with a smile. The rooms are clean and the mini-bar and accessories available are vast. ||One peculiarity is that they don’t restock the things you eat/drink/use, and when you check out you have to try to remember the many things you (may) have consumed during your several day stay.||We arrived shortly before lunch and asked where we could eat. We were advised that there were several restaurants within walking distance…..but not that they were all closed because it was Monday. Eventually found one that did the trick.||You can order dinner, and they bring it freshly cooked to the garden for you, and very tasty too!||One downside was the internet was disastrous, and you were hard pushed to connect for more than 3 seconds from our bedroom. In the garden it worked better but was still hit and miss, so was frustrating when trying to revise work emails or make fresh arrangements for our journey.||All things said, I feel bad for criticizing the few faults, as the people are so nice. ||Good value for money, and ticks many boxes for...
Read moreSuch a beautiful spot. This place was formally the family holiday home but has since become a hotel. The beautiful bamboo chalet style building is wonderfully warm in the evening and cool during the day. The rooms are big with ensuite bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The grounds are lovely with plenty of places to sit and have breakfast in the sunshine in the morning. Has it own private stream which you can bathe in if you dont mind the temp of the water. Great location at the bottom of the valle at the start of the waterfall walk and close to Salento town and Valle de Cocora. You can hail down a bus on the main road every 30 mins to either Salento or Armenia. A great alternative to staying in Salento. Breakfast is great, dinner menu not so much but there are other restaurants in the area that you can go to. Friendly resident dog who will happily guide you to the waterfall. Owners are wonderfully helpful and...
