Hostel Casamart — Hotel in Santa Marta

We stayed here in a private room for 5 nights during a scuba diving course. The hostel is clean and looks good, I think it has potential. However it did not work for our needs. ||||It seemed more popular/ suited to large groups who make a lot of noise, the rooms are far from soundproof and there are no rules about noise so they made their own which seemed to involve keeping the opposite hours to us. ||||I'll list the positives and negatives below||||Positives||+ Clean||+ Looks quite new||+ Good kitchen/ dining area||||Negatives||- Rooms positioned next to communal bathrooms, a lot of noise travels from there at all hours||- Rooms not sound proofed||- techno or reggaeton blasting at most hours||- No rules on noise||- (very) uncomfortable pillows||- inflexible on checkout. We offered to pay half the price for an extra hour but we were told no in case someone showed up (even though there were no bookings)||- The communal showers leak so when we had to use them because we weren't allowed to do late checkout they soaked all of our bags and clothes||- They have a gate system where you can only come in or out when someone comes and physically unlocks it for you. This can involve longish (up to 5 mins) waits when you come back in the evening or especially if you want to leave early in...

Amazing place for the price, it looks a bit out of place, but when you walk in the energy is absolutely amazing, the room smelled a bit funny and I have allergies but once we got the AC going I had no issues. Great staff, great service. I do not recomend walking around the local area alone at night, specially as you exit the beach front, we would defenately come back to this spot.

publicidad engañosa, el hotel en mal estado, la madera completamente deteriorada, mala ubicación, las habitaciones en condiciones de abandono, cucarachas, no hay donde colocar las maletas, realice la compra por medio de despegar, al llegar solicite no quedarme pue sno eran las condiciones que se veìan en la pagina, me cobraron sin quedarme un iva, que no me devolvieron ni me dieron factura de nada, eso fue el 28 de marzo de 2025 y aún hoy 22 de septiembre 2025, estoy esperando la devolución del recurso por parte de despegar, y la respuesta es que el hotel no ha contestado. situaciòn de mala fe pues no me quede en dicho hotel por sus malas condiciones.
