Casas New Caribe Point — Hotel in Cahuita

This property was an incredible find for us. First, Cahuita is one of the best locations on the east coast for experiencing the Caribbean flavour of incredible Costa Rica. Much more tranquil than neighbouring Puerto Viejo and with Cahuita National Park adjoining the town, everything is within walking distance.

The property is located just outside of town off the unpaved beach road. It felt very safe walking back from town on this road at night. The location is very close to the Playa Negra with a couple restaurants and bars just minutes away. Perfect for enjoying an evening dancing and then a short walk back.

The property is incredible!! Beautiful, well managed garden and pool/hot tub areas with abundant wildlife on the property. Sloths, iguanas, tropical birds, butterflies... you feel that you are in a tropical paradise. Our hosts were incredible. They welcomed us and gave us a great introduction to Costa Rica. We took advantage of the breakfast option and enjoyed our peaceful meal poolside. The three villas were completely secluded from each other giving peace and privacy. All is located within a locked fenced garden giving a great sense of security.

Our villa was extremely clean and reflected well the spirit of the area. Air conditioning was appreciated but ceiling fans in each room also helped. All windows had screens.

This is an amazing property to come just for relaxation. We only had three days here but next time, we will stay much longer. New Caribe Point was a great find for us and we highly recommend it.

New Caribe Point is amazing. We stayed there for 2 weeks with our 3 children who are 12/9/6 years old and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. Anna, who manages the establishment, is incredible. She was incredible to us and our children and nothing was too much of a problem. She has an unflappable personality and is serene and amazing to be around. She was a large part of why we had such an incredible time at NCP. Patricia, the owner of the establishment who also lives on the property, was also amazing to us. Due to the length of our stay she gave us free usage of the bicycles which was a real treat. She gave us fruit from her organic farm and was a pleasure to meet. The bungalow that we rented was comfortable and cute. The full kitchen suited us well as we cook most of our meals at home. It was amazing to be able to cook again as we had been in establishments without kitchens for a month before getting to NCP. The beach is about 30 meters from NCP and the surf is very kid friendly. The water is warm and inviting. There are a number of restaurants within a 2 minute walk from NCP. Our favorite was The Reggae Bar which serves delicious food. NCP has a beautiful garden which is alive with wildlife. We were lucky enough to see sloths, howler monkeys, amazing birdlife, iguanas jumping from branch to branch and loads of other awesome animals and bugs. This place was so peaceful and absolutely beautiful. I absolutely enjoyed my stay here. At night, I laid in a hammock on the porch of my villa and listened to all the birds and some monkeys. It was so relaxing. The pool and gardens are immaculate and I loved ending my day by taking an outside rinse at the parrot shower and then swimming in the clean warm pool. They also had 2 adorable cats and a puppy. A black sand beach was about a 2 minute walk away and there were some restaurants right there as well. The room was clean and comfortable. It had everything I needed to cook or to store and reheat leftovers. The air conditioning worked great when I used it at night. They had the number of a masseuse that was nearby that came to your room or met you on the beach. She was absolutely fantastic and it was nice that the info was in the room. The hosts were so friendly and very sweet. They were kind and caring and I appreciated everything they did and all the work they put into their villas to make it as homey, peaceful, and comfortable as possible. I highly recommend...
