This was our favourite hotel that we stayed in Costa Rica. What was true at Suizo was true of most of the hotels we stayed in in that it was the grounds and service that made it rather than the room itself. Our room was okay, relatively spacious with air conditioning. We had to leave early the last day and they opened the kitchen early for us which was a lovely gesture.||Like other previous guests, you can see so much wildlife in the grounds. Even before we had checked in, a baby sloth had been pointed out to us in a tree in the car park. We ate in one night after a heavy down pour. This meant a lot of the wildlife came out so a couple of fellow guests were out with a huge torch pointing out an opossum eating a coconut up a tree. By the end there were eight of us spotting in the grounds. Never done anything like it before, it was great. ||We didn't have a car which was a disadvantage although you can get taxis. We walked in and back to/from Cahuita one day. It was fine going but very hot back. One day we got a local bus to Puerto Vargas and entered the national park there and walked back to Cahuita. You walk on the boardwalk to the coast and then walk back along the coast to Cahuita. Very easy to do. The PV entrance is so much quieter than the Cahuita one and we had the sloth we saw above our heads all...
Read moreOn our honeymoon tour of Costa Rica, we stayed here for 6 nights in two separate blocks of 3 nights. The staff went over and above to help us. They were so friendly and accommodating and couldn't have done any more for us to ensure we had the best honeymoon. We would recommend the night time nature hike that can be booked through the reception. We saw the most incredible reptiles and amphibians. We loved the Swiss style chalet reception and the pool area. Not everyday you can sit on a sunbed and watch hummingbirds, toucans and howler monkeys while having a cocktail. The traditional breakfasts were delicious. Would recommend staying here if you visit Cahuita as it is a short beach walk into the town and...
Read moreWe stayed a week here - 2 adults, 3 kids. Our bungalow was really lovely, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The entire staff were so great. Daniel, Ramona, the teams in the restaurant and gardens are awesome. Were great to the kids, let us know anytime there were animals visiting (sloths, lots of monkeys, frogs, toucans). We had breakfast at the restaurant everyday and had dinner there too 5 nights. Was a great location to have as our home base while we explored the area for 7-days. Cahuita was a super easy 10min drive along a dirt road right on the beach so no need to get on the highway most days. Beds were comfortable and air conditioner worked really well making...
