Review for Hotel Casa Roland San Jose
Our recent 5-day, 4-night stay at Hotel Casa Roland San Jose was truly unforgettable, not only for the exceptional accommodations but also for the incredible empathy and care shown by the staff. Upon arrival from the US, my wife was unfortunately struck with Norovirus, and the hotel team went above and beyond to assist us during this difficult time. They called EMTs for us, guided us through a visit to the municipal hospital, and even helped us extend our stay to ensure we had the time and support we needed for her recovery. Their kindness and concern made a challenging situation far less stressful.
The hotel itself is a gem. The craftsmanship throughout the property is stunning, with beautifully wandering halls adorned with remarkable art that make every corner a visual delight. Each morning, we were treated to a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast, which added warmth to our stay. The other patrons were friendly, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere.
Hotel Casa Roland is much more than a place to stay; it’s a sanctuary filled with character, charm, and compassionate people. We are incredibly grateful to the staff for their care and highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a unique and heartfelt experience...
Read moreBeautiful interior decoration with nice clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast was wonderful. My main problem came from walls either being too thin, or the vents allowing sound to travel. You can hear everything happening in the hallways. To make matters worse, the room next to me had a dog. The people left the dog alone all night long. This caused the dog to howl for hours and hours. Around 3am, I went to reception to seek assistance. The man working did not speak English, so communication was a bit tough. I went back to my room hoping the owners would come back soon (they did not). Eventually, I went back to reception and was able to use Google Translate to talk. The man working graciously allowed us to sleep in a different room (it didn’t make much difference because you could still hear the dog, but the gesture was appreciated). That all being said, the dog howling was not the hotel’s fault and I appreciate their efforts to help. Just know that sound travels in this hotel and will negatively impact you if you’re a light sleeper. It would help if you get a room that is further away from foot traffic and other people. Overall, the hotel is a good choice for staying in San Jose, there are just some minor...
Read moreI have this place 4 stars not for its rating but for everything else. It's a 3 star hotel in a decent area. From the outside it looks like a prison. They have gated parking so the car will be pretty safe. The hotel is gated as well so not just anyone is gonna walk in. The inside is super cool! Art all over the walls, and pretty much everywhere. Looks like your walking into something from days past. It's not old looking though, more of an art galary on the inside. Really such a beautiful hotel inside. Halls were like a maze and no elevator so don't bring lots of luggage. The rooms were large with a really nice design. Big comfy beds and beautiful rooms. No view outside so don't expect that. The staff were great and friendly. The view from one of the random public spaces was beautiful. Breakfast was not the greatest, you order your meal and they make it for you, but not the tastiest. Decent for a free breakfast at a 3 star place. Overall a great experience, definitely would come back here simply for the experience...
