La Puesta del Sol Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Puerto Carrillo

We enjoyed our stay at La Puesta del Sol B&B with Roberto and his wonderful staff. When people travel they usually encounter a few bumps in the road. Finding a solution to these inconveniences can be an added hassle to take away ones enjoyment while vacationing. Our issue was when our airline changed our departure date to one day earlier. We have booked 3 nights with Roberto, so we needed to cancel our last night with him with very short notice. He was most accommodating and never insisted on us paying for the third night nor for any cancelation fee. That certainly was a very kind and generous gesture on his part. We both agreed that the highlight of his place is the outstanding dinners they serve. For such a small and basic B&B, his culinary creations are world class. I spent 10 days here and I can really recommend visiting this place. It is beautiful. The owner Roberto is super friendly and welcoming. We felt at home from the very beginning. You can watch the sunset from a platform in the garden, have a drink at the bar and then go for dinner. The bar is next to the hotel in an old stable. The cocktails at the bar are unique. Alejandro and Tamara are super nice and mix really, really, really good drinks. Try the drink with burned rosemary. I forgot it’s name. Alejandro makes his own ginger beer, by the way. The cuisine is just excellent. We had the Christmas dinner and it blew our minds. Overall, the staff is super friendly and nice. If you're not staying at the hotel, you should just drop in for a drink and a bite to eat. You can't pay with a credit card at the bar, so better bring cash and tip well. The Chef from the restaurant is incredible. We hired him and his son for a in house meal at our AIRBNB. The food was incredible! It felt like a Michelin star experience. He created 7 incredible courses of fresh, local, and delicious food. The seafood was some of the best I've ever had. They even made their own fruit juices and mixed drinks as well as picking amazing wines to pair with the food. The restaurant is also incredible. What a hidden gem!!

We also visited the restaurant a few days before for drinks and they were excellent. What a beautiful location overlooking the ocean. So quiet.

Next time we visit we want to stay at the B&B as the location and rooms looked excellent. We met the owner and he was so nice and accommodating. Wish we'd booked here...
