Marisol Hostel — Hotel in Sámara

We are a family of 5 and are so grateful to have found Marisol, her hostel, family, and wonderful staff. We thought our days of hosteling were over but found ourselves wanting to stay in Samara with everything booked. We found availability at Marisol and my wife and kids were very happy with it right away. That relieved me as a husband and father. The rooms were clean, the hostel was very warm, welcoming, and guests were very quiet, respectful, helpful and we made lots of friends. After a week or so we decided to move into the apartment at the hostel and were treated to amazing service by Marisol's son, family, and entire staff. They were exactly what our family was seeking in Costa Rica with their kindness, help, safe and clean stay. I haven't even mentioned the amazing pool, Elena baking an amazing cake for my daughter's birthday, their amazing children, the perfect proximity to town and the beach. It was perfect for our family, hard for us to leave the people there, and it brought my wife to tears to leave. Go, you may not want to leave, we stayed...

I had booked and prepaid with Marisol hostel through Airbnb, which they accepted and sent me welcoming messages and answered questions about my stay, only weeks later to tell me that they cannot host me, that’s it not fair the amount I paid, and suggested that I’m trying to take advantage of them by paying less than in the USA (and I’m not even from the US), so they seem to have an issue with English-speaking foreigners. The rooms were hotter inside than standing outside in the sun!! I also felt uncomfortable whenever i opened the door to my room, a man living there would open his door every time as i went to the restroom, which is separarte from the dorm room.
