Incredibly delicious and very affordable sandwiches and ravioli! Having grown up in an Italian family, I am pretty picky about Italian food, and this place has blown me away and become a favorite in Samara. There are vegan and vegetarian options, and you can eat your ravioli on-site or get frozen ravioli to go and prepare at home. Everyone who works here is very kind, patient and helpful. The customer service made me want to come back just as much as the great food! This little shop tucked away behind the hustle and bustle of Samara is a true hidden gem. In my early years back in Boston I was a cheese buyer in one of the Wholefoods locations and after 22 years of living in this remote paradise it was like winning the lottery to discover this shop and it's lovely owners and staff. They offer of an excellent selection of quality cheeses, imported specialty items and a great wine selection at very affordable prices for a tiny tourist town. We visited Salumi & Formaggi in Sámara in January 2019. I think it had been open for two weeks, though the proprietors have been running an Italian food import business for many years. It's a small, cosy store with Italian groceries: salami, prosciutto and other meats, cheese, sauce, bread, wine and other stuff. They make sandwiches and have a nice promotion - a sandwich and a glass of wine for ₡2,500.
