The Cool Hotel declares itself as a 4-star hotel when looking at its Google entry, so you expect a specific standard when booking into a room. The reservation was kinda uncomplicated, and the check-in was friendly. We had to choose whether we wanna get breakfast (9€/person) and get a transfer to the airport (9€/room). The floors of the reception area and the restaurant are rather narrow and a bit dark, while the restaurants interior is made with passion. Once we entered the room, it seemed more like a narrow motel-apartment room than a 4-star hotel room, not looking like on the pictures on their website at all. At least it was clean. The flooring is made out of a prior long-pile carpet, which feels already hard when walking on it. The beds didn't have any bedside lamps, so we had to fumble ourselves back to bed. The bathroom is a small dark cubbyhole consisting of a rather elderly interior, at least in a modern color design. If you wanna sit in the evening at some comfy area you just have the chance to ask for a restaurant table. The spa area costs an extra fee if you intend to use it. If you come by car, it is cozy to have the car park directly near the room doors, like in a motel. The airport isn't too far away but you don't hear any plane noise too much. The next local supermarket 'Aldi trgovina' is just a few foodsteps away.
Talking about the breakfast, it is under no circumstances worth 9€/person. It consists of slices of white bread, already melting cheese and salami slices, and a rather cheap coffee maker. At least you can get some yogurt.
The restaurant itself has a great choice of meals and desserts served with passion in appropriate portions. The employees are kind and do a great job. It's definitely a good-value restaurant.
Don't get me wrong, for sure it ain't a bad hotel but not worth its grade (4 stars) and not worth it's price (91€/night for two persons without breakfast and...
Read moreI highly recommend this establishment as a perfect place to stay! Situated just 5 minutes drive from Zagreb Airport, transfers offered in house if needed, very reasonably.
Location is in a quiet residential looking street with ample parking on site and adjoining road. A comfortable enough walk into the town centre, Velika Gorica which has everything you should need locally. Zagreb center just a short car or bus journey away.
A variety of room options are available, we opted for a family room which was great, very comfortable beds with plenty of towels, blankets, toiletrys, seating, a fridge etc.
I loved the room layout which had a partion allowing those in the single beds to sleep while those in the double could watch TV with minimal disturbance. Very well planned 👏 I managed to peek into lots of the other rooms😉, all looked really excellent and spacious.
Adjoining Bar/Restaurant PaPa Mos served lovely food and drinks. (& ciggarettes thankfully for me 😀) The take out service had a busy turnover of local orders, which speaks highly of food quality, but did not disturb, or slow service to restaurant diners at all. Prices were extremely good too.
Service throughout by the many lovely accommodating staff was exceptional 💕Everyone was so helpful, polite, friendly & multilingual. Thank you for making our little trip so enjoyable, we will return soon!
All areas were immaculately clean with modern facilities. Heating, aircon, up-to-date TVs in rooms, automatic lighting in common areas, WiFi etc.
Ample covered out side areas, a charming children's play area, there is a spa available at extra cost with jacuzzi & sauna too.

Read moreThis was a very cheap option for an airport hotel.||I needed to be picked up from the airport and then dropped back off early the day morning. I didnt have the correct details for arranging to be picked up, so rang the number I had and was then texted another one to call. They came an collected me very promptly.||The hotel is odd, it was dark when I arrived but it seems to be in a residential area, my room was like an oven and the heating didn't switch off so I had to have the 2 large ground floor windows open all night, which isn't really ideal. The bathroom was very cold as there was no heat in there. The shower which appeared to be one of those fancy spa type ones, was not connected up fully so I only had access to a hand held shower which isn't very good if you want to wash your hair, as you need 2 hands. The shower doors came off the runner, and the water did not drain away from the shower tray for about 15 minutes after I had finished. I had to stop showering quicker tahn I wanted or it would have flooded.||I do not know about the restaurant as I took my own food with me. I was dropped off at the airport promptly at the time that I arranged.||I think "cheap and cheerful" would describe...
