Nothing fancy but met all the basics- the history of the building and how the hotel was built is interesting. Not really sure if there’s a better place to stay in Korcula which to me was part of the charm of this lovely town ie no large commercial resorts. ||Pros-|Location can’t be beat- very easy walk to the town. Also practically next door to a great local konoba (Banje) where I had my lost memorable meal (see review). Marco gelato is also supposedly great and a skip away (sadly closed during my visit).|We were picked up directly from the ferry but not sure if this was arrange by the hotel or our travel company. Definitely recommend this.|Very friendly and helpful front daytime desk staff- helped us with our luggage since all rooms require climbing stairs.|Room is very spacious and met all the basics- bed a tad too hard for me but comfortable enough. ||Cons |The women working in the dining area were definitely less friendly and not very helpful. Afternoon staff are not as friendly or helpful as the daytime staff. |Breakfast is very basic - don’t expect much. They do offer a few cooked options to select. Did not dine for any other meals at the restaurant but why eat here when Banje is right next door, delicious and where all the locals go? |Told about the wine tasting but we were not aware that there is a 25 euro per person charge- would not have gone if we had known that. We were actually scolded by the “sommelier” for being 5 minutes late but were never told this was a class! Not a pleasant start to any evening. |Be aware that there is no elevator and all rooms require climbing a minimum...
Read morePositives: |- Beautiful location, nice sea views, 5 minute walk into the marina/old town area|- Beach in front of hotel was nice, small comfortable pebbles to lie on and the hotel provided beach towels|- Staff all very friendly, especially the two girls who served us during breakfast time each day|- Breakfast was a good selection and not crowded like in some bigger hotels where it can feel chaotic|- Air conditioning in the room was very good||Unfortunately, I’m not sure how this hotel has managed to get a 4* rating in comparison to other hotels we have stayed in. We had booked a sea view room which was disappointing with the tiniest little window making the room feel dark - also very small so hardly room to even unpack suitcase. When we arrived, the room was dirty, lots of hairs and dirt all over floor and around edges of floor which I asked to be cleaned again, the management team were apologetic and dealt with this for us. The bedroom/bathroom were generally dated, mould/damp in bathroom, no hot water from the sink tap, the bin was stained with something sticky and also broken, facilities in room were poor, shower leaked on bathroom floor and never drained through the plug hole so essentially standing in deep puddle of water every time we showered. |We felt this hotel was overpriced for what we actually...
Read moreThis is a lovely small hotel with a wonderful warm and friendly staff who will really take care of you and get to know you. The location is excellent; just outside the Old City but a very short and flat walk to get there. It’s also well located to get to the ferry pier. |The views from the hotel’s terraces are magnificent. There are several very comfortable spots to relax outside, never crowded or noisy. |There is no Uber on Korcula, but the hotel can order taxis which come promptly. |Our room was garden facing with a pretty spacious balcony. We were surrounded by beautiful flowering trees and even had a sliver of a water view. The shower was great. The storage in the room was also good. |Breakfast was fine; the buffet was not expansive, but there was an accessory menu to order omelettes and other things. |If I had to mention any negative, which I hate to do, it would be the spotty WiFi and a few other very minor things (no hooks in the bathroom, no washcloths given).|We absolutely loved the island of Korcula, and this hotel added to that feeling. A big shoutout to Nidal and Mark who added a real personal touch...
