We had an incredible experience and we really enjoyed our time there. The 4 days went by extremely quickly and I wouldn’t mind spending an entire month there. It really was that good.
Room: The room was something we were quite happy about. It was spacious, enough for 3 people to sleep and enjoy a movie before bed.
The beds were comfortable and nice to sleep in, the thermostat worked great. The flat screen tv was also another plus, but that’s to be expected. The room was quite nice and there wasn’t anything wrong with it, in fact, we were quite satisfied with our stay.
Staff: This is where this hotel really shines. Everyone in this hotel is extremely nice, friendly, caring and happy. From the moment you walk to the reception for the check-in, to the moment you check out. Every single employee is extremely nice.Even the cleaners always had a nice welcoming smile on their face and were happy to help out.
That was one of my favourite trips, because of the staff. We had the exact same experience here in Laguna Molindrio. The staff gets 5 stars!
Food: Oh my god, the food. I don’t even know where to begin.
One thing we especially loved is the fact that the restaurant has chefs who cook in front of you, which means that the food is always fresh. That doesn’t happen often in hotels and we were extremely happy about that. Unfortunately, the pizza was only fresh on our last day though.
We only had breakfast and dinner included at our hotel, but to be honest that’s all we really ate, along with some snack throughout the day.
We ate so much for breakfast and dinner that we didn’t even feel hungry throughout the day. I’m telling you, it was that delicious.
For breakfast, you were able to select anything from the wide ranges of pastries, eggs, ham, bacon. Different kinds of cereals, a lot of fruit. Many kinds of bread, sandwiches, salads. Everything.
For dinner, there were different kinds of foods every single evening, which we really liked. Some hotels think their guests like eating the same kinds of foods for a week, believe it or not. But Laguna Molindrio had that covered, the food was excellent.
Wellness: In my opinion, this is the 2nd best part of staying in Laguna Molindrio. The food being 1st of course. 😉
In wellness, you’ll be able to enjoy 3 saunas, which hold about 9-10 people in total. As well as a jacuzzi which is also quite enjoyable.
uckily the Hotel was mostly empty on the first 3 days, but on our last day, we had to wait for about an hour in order to get in the wellness. It’s a big hotel, but the wellness only holds 10 people. No worries though. I guess you just need to reserve in advance.
Fitness: There’s also a tiny gym in the hotel, big enough for about 5 people to get a solid workout in. You have about 5 machines, 3 cardio machines and weights. Probably one of the best gyms you’ll find in a hotel here in Poreč.
Pool: This one caught us by surprise since we weren’t expecting it. The hotel also has a covered pool, the water was warm and enjoyable. It was definitely nice to go for a swim in the AM. In fact, that’s what we did on most days. We went to the pool after breakfast in the AM and visited the wellness in the PM since it opens at 2 PM. (unfortunately.) The pool was good and nice. The only thing that bothered me was the ever dripping water from the ceiling.
Overall: This is probably one of the top 5 hotels I’ve ever stayed at in my entire life. 95% of the things were absolutely perfect. We had a very relaxing stay and we enjoyed the experience very much.
Unfortunately, on the last night, we were woken up by loud knocking and shouting on our door, which lasted for about 45 minutes. A soccer team got drunk, I presume.
A call to the reception sorted it out in about 10 minutes, again excellent staff.
I was also really impressed by hotel’s wifi. It worked, EVERYWHERE. It was really reliable and I absolutely loved it, we all did. Other hotels should take notes, amazing work...
Read moreWill start with the bad things first. ||1. The bathrooms are ridiculously small. We had to climb over the toilet to get into the shower. In the showers I lost count of how many times I hit the temp switch by mistake and either got a nice hot burst or cold.||2. Not big enough for guests. When busy not enough space in pool or in dinning area. But dinning area was rare that not alot of space. ||3. We were only English people in hotel. For us it's fine but for others may not be. Also watch out for sea gulls.||4. Very grumpy restaurant staff. Not all but some of the staff In restaurant really grumpy. Unless they see croatian children then they are all over them. I saw one staff member hugging and kissing a random croatian child. But other people don't really have time of day for. ||||So the good stuff, this is a very clean hotel. The cleaners work really really hard and are not grumpy. Along with reception staff. Very friendly. They smile. That's does help restaurant staff. ||Quiet location. ||Superb food. Very good choice. Croatian night is very good. Clean pool. Comfortable bed. Clean towels. ||||The entertainment doesn't happen. If your after animation team then this isn't there. There's a shared kids club but any entertainment you have to pay for. Eg water sports etc....||The complex is a long way from any thing. It's a 45 to a hour walk to porec. But there is a tourist train that goes regularly, price 20 each. Evening entertainment again not consistent. Nothing Fri, Sat or Sun. Band on Thursday and cinema Tuesday, plus something mon and Wednesday but this is on the beach not in hotel and there are 5 or so other hotels that share this bit. Plenty of tennis, hardest crazy gold course ever, table tennis and water sport. ||Pebble beaches around sea but plenty of grass areas but be careful plenty of ants too. Beach volley ball courts but nothing organised except Tuesday evening, but again 5 other hotels playing too. Big water skiing area that looked popular. Lots of restaurants if you fancy a change, plus a bar that shows football games. There's a gym at the leisure centre past the tennis courts. Bloke charged me 200 about 20 pounds for 2 weeks. Please note some places do not accept card, ie the train etc. Bring extra with you. ||Overall we really enjoyed croatia. The hotel isn't bad, the bathrooms and some restaurant staff being grumpy are really only annoying things. You will have nice time here but do not expect all...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Istra Plava Laguna for a week and found it to be a comfortable, no-frills base for exploring the Poreč area. The hotel itself is set in the tranquil Zelena Resort, surrounded by greenery and just a short walk from the beach — ideal for morning strolls or amazing sunset views.||While the rooms are fairly simple, they’re clean, air-conditioned, and ours had a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens. Some reviews have said that the decor is quite tired, and I would agree to an extent - but it's a 3 star hotel for a reason. Beds are comfy, breakfast is fine - cereals, pastries, pancakes alongside some cooked items - I'd give the bacon a miss though, and the breakfast coffee isn't great. If you're coming from the UK, bring your own tea bags!||There are a lot of steps to get from street level to the hotel entrance - there is an escalator, but it doesn't seem to ever work. Staff were really polite and helpful, and the buffet meals were varied enough to suit most tastes, including fussy children, with drinks included during dinner — a nice touch. Don't expect top quality food - there are plenty of restaurants to check out locally for that, but the meals are fine.||What really made the stay enjoyable was the location. Within walking distance, you’ll find Aquacolors Poreč, a large water park that’s great for families. There’s also mini golf, canoe rentals, and tennis courts right by the beach. The resort itself is great - lots of bars and restaurants and a real chilled out atmosphere. You can take boat trips out, go swimming in the sea, enjoy a coffee overlooking the sea, and even in peak season, it's not as busy as I expected. We hired a car through Sixt and explored Istra on the rainy days we had.||For dining out, Vila Romana and Marina Parentium are nearby and offer excellent seafood and Mediterranean dishes.||Evening entertainment at the resort — like outdoor cinema and live music — added to a relaxed, holiday vibe. If you're looking for a peaceful spot with easy access to activities and attractions, Hotel Istra is a solid choice.||Some of the reviews I read about this place were quite alarming, to the extent that I considered changing hotels, but I needn't...
