Currently half way through an 11 night stay with family and honestly can’t fault it here. ||I paid extra to have a sea view room and definitely worth it (photo below). Our room looks out over the pools and gardens. Great view from the balcony for the firework display on a Thursday night, which was like a firework display standard back home. Amazing!!||Our room was spotlessly cleaned daily with fresh towels by the time we had returned from breakfast. All areas of the hotel and pool are kept very clean from what I’ve seen. ||I do get up to put the towels down but most hotels are like that. ||Breakfast - cereals, lots of different bread, biscuits, continental, cooked breakfast, fruit, yoghurts, decent coffee, variety of teas, juices, etc. All nicely presented and fresh. ||Lunch and dinner - two choices of soup, bread, pasta, pizza, fresh fish, meats, salads, cheeses, vegetables, rice, risotto, etc. Selection of cakes, fruit, yoghurts and ice cream for dessert. ||Nothing negative to say about the food, it’s been lovely. Decent wine and beer on tap too. If you like junk food then this isn’t the place for you I’m afraid. Not a chip or chicken nugget in sight thankfully!||Good bar service with plenty of staff. There’s a coffee bar and snack bar, which does have chips available I believe. ||My 12 year old is in his element here with all the sports included. At least 12 quality clay tennis courts, eight table tennis tables, pedalos, kayaks, bikes, etc. We have taken full advantage of booking all this easily next to reception desk. ||The immediate area literally right outside hotel is great. All the sports on your doorstep, bars, restaurants and shops. Area is fairly quiet during the day. Does get busier in the evening. ||We’ve done a day trip to Slovenia (Lake Bled) which was absolutely stunning. Been on a BBQ boat trip to Rovinj which was a lovely old town with cobbled streets, harbour, lots of restaurants, etc. Day trip to Venice later in the week. ||We’ve used the bikes to ride into Porec which wasn’t far. It’s lovely there and worth a visit. ||It’s easy to get the little train into Porec for 4 euros each. You can also get a taxi or water taxi easily. ||It’s reasonably priced to eat/drink out everywhere we’ve been so far. ||Nice little bar across the road called Beach Volley I think. Great service and prices. ||The staff work really hard here to keep the place nice for the guests. ||We are having a lovely time and would definitely recommend. For the price we paid to come here I think it’s more...
Read moreThe Hotel Albatros Plava Laguna is located inside of the Plava resort with other 2 & 3 stars hotel, plus a 5 star camp site, all within 2 to 5 minute walk. The staff at the reception, restaurant, snacks bar and kids activity room were all outstanding with top-notch professionalism and strong client focus minded. Few of the drawbacks are: The "suite" that I booked is kind of small for a 4 star hotel standard, however, it was ok for us with one kid. 2. The room was also lacking basic amenities such as: coffee machine, water boiler, tea cup, coffee mug, drinking glass etc In my room #: F343 the W.C flushing water pressure was very low that it cannot flush a simple small piece of toilet paper and we were just only using the W.C to urinate and we have to go to use the main toilet next to the main restaurant where the toilet is flushing well. This issued was reported to the reception but the service personnel informed me that they are unable to fix this low presure issue on the W.C in my room, so with this is mind broght some discomfort on my family and I for the entire duration of our holidays and that is why I give the room 3 stars, which drop my overall rating to 4 stars. The bigger parking lot was about 150-200 meters away from the main building and it was of soft soil and when it rains, its get muddy and it costing less than €3 per day parking. For this parking lot, I will give it a 2 star rating but it the management have it with concrete then, it will get a 4 star rating. The services, staff and location, I give 5 stars rating. The beach is of rocks but the water is clear and clean and there is no sand beach in this area, however, you can still have fun in the sea. Further, If you are a family with two kids, I'll recommend you take the suite which have a separate seating area and a separate bedroom. The sofa bed in the seating area are comfortable and can sleep up to 2 kids comfortably. Finally, there were lots of elderly guests around during the time of my stay, but my family and I didn't...
Read moreVery nice hotel. The surrounding corresponds with Istrian culture - this means that the beach (the blue lagoon) that is about 200m from hotel is kept clean but the beach is stone with some places concrete made. The hotel is clean but you can find maybe here and there a spyder web so don't expect sterile surrounding. The staff is highly motivated and nice, we didn't find any "long faces" along the staff. The restaurant and bar is a great story or with other words, you won't be hungry or thirsty for all day. The hotel isn't a family hotel and it is because you won't find any dedicated 2+2 room (only modified) but they do their best. Also the daily animation is their weak point, where it is planed to have a pool animation but it's skipped or no one from animation team appears. The evening program is also not directly for the kids. There was a moment where it was announced that kids should go in back row because it is time for "parents" program - with some "smokey smokey", "drinky drinky", "gigy gigy" show made by the hotel animation team and was not kids meant. So a lot of potential to be better here. You can also rent bikes, water paddlers etc. and they are all in good condition and kept clean. I would recommend you to travel to Poreč with the ferry boat (schedule on the picture) because if you travel with tourists train, it is difficult to return because on the evening all the guests want to return at same time and it is a lot of waiting time so you can enter the train - you can also pick a taxi. To summarize all the points - the hotel is great and would recommend it. The only thing missing is lack of animations. The services outside hotel are very good and you won't be disappointed. About the beach - if you search for sand beaches, than don't go here - you will be disappointed. For strollers and wheelchairs the infrastructure is complied with them. To park your car you have enough parking space that is free of charge so don't worry about that. So just come and have...
