Pros:||1. Very friendly Staff||2. Location is nice. On the water so nice views ALTHOUGH there is a large ship container yard right next to it. They conveniently leave that out of their description and photos of the hostel. It still was nice to be on the water though.. ||3. Clean bathrooms and comfortable beds||4. Big personal lockers||||Cons:||1. We stayed in the Orange room which is basically like a loft blocked off from the downstairs with translucent plastic paneling. They really need to change this because lights from the downstairs come through to the room as well as all the noise from the kitchen and common room. ||2. They like to play the radio downstairs all the time which would be nice if you weren't being woken up by it.||3. Kitchen is a little small for how big the hostel seems to be. No oven. ||4. Advertised 24 hour reception on website but it wasn't true. Granted, we did come during "non peak season" but they could mention on their website the hours differ from season to season. ||We had to wait outside for 3 hours at 5am to check in at 8am because of this. ||||Overall a nice place. Just seems like they could do some simple things to make it better, like at least put curtains in the...
Read moreThe staff is so nice. When I was staying, a former athlete for Yugoslavia named Sexy was working frequently. I had many great conversation with Sexy, about history, about his life, his grown children, Rijeka and Croatia. There was also a women of similar age that was very pleasant and a young guy who was helpful. The walls are a bit thin in the big dorm, they are only made of plastic so be warned: go to bed tired or drunk because you can hear the stairs and lower floor fully. The views from the front are spectacular. Even with the shipping terminal close by, the water is crystal clear in front of the hostel. The beach in front of the hostel is the local Dog beach. If you like dogs, expect to see a at least a few per hour. It's a nice spot really, one of the most picturesque, beautiful hostel experiences I've ever had. It's really close to Sablicevo beach which is simply amazing. It's a 10 minute walk into the center of town, which is nice to burn off those calories and see a bit more than just the...
Read moreI was travelling by car and need a night sleep on the road with a parking place. I took a single room (i dont like sleeping with others) with a sea view.|The hostel is advertised as near the city center but actually is around 1.5 km to the city center. For me looke too much so i stayed in house. |it is true that exactly in front of he hostel is a small beach but also on the right is the commercial port. First i was a little bit shocked that i could see a large vessel quite close, but althought it departed over the night i could not hear a thing. |Despite all that if you want to swimm the sea is perfectly clean and transparent.|The hostel is pretty small (which i see like an advantage) and on that point not crowded - it was out of season. So i could enjoy the common facilities by myself. The personnel is very nice and helpfull and speak perfect english.|The only small downsize i saw is that the common facilities was not perfectly clean even though there were not many...
