Stayed here for 9 nights with my two children age 10 and 14. I was very aware of small rooms and no air con but these really are so very small and an absolute sauna for 3 people to comfortably live in! No fans provided. Everyone slept with balcony doors open although never any breeze. Clean towels every day however they make your beds giving the impression they are changing sheets but they do not!! I know this as kids spilt drink on both their beds and cleaners just kept flipping sheets when we left them visible in mornings to change them. The staff were by no means hospitable towards us English and I’m pretty sure we were only English people for miles and miles! This area is swamped by Germans who are incredibly rude and do not stop staring you out all day long absolute misery they are! However they seemed to get great treatment from the bar staff at hotel and on pretty much every occasion I got ignored when wanting to order a drink at pool bar when it was table service at night .. they also seem to change prices on drinks too it just all felt like they were trying mug me off! When I tried to question this they were just so rude so needless to say we didn’t spend any more time at hotel day or night! The barman in cocktail bar upstairs is more happy to serve you but that’s if you want to sit inside as it’s a bit far from pool etc to keep coming and going. ||||The swimming pool is way too salty it burns your eyes! Dirty rim around whole pool and only 50 odd sunbeds for a hotel that has 700 plus rooms it’s nuts! Obviously the Germans claimed all them at 4am lol. ||||Entertainment seemed to be just same band every night much louder than needed too! Really quite boring and not my cup of tea. ||||Seagulls!! Wow never heard such a racket!! They wake you up crack of dawn then soon after it seems the whole hotel decides to do the same!! If you want a lay in this isn’t the place for you! We were up and eating breakfast by 8.30am which can’t say has ever happened on holiday before. ||||Checking out I didn’t get a thanks for staying how was your stay all them things nothing just thanks goodbye! Checking in was same too well got greeted with ‘check in isn’t until 2pm’ no welcome nothing and had to ask if anywhere to store cases until then. ||||Positives has to be location on the beach front, although ten flights stairs back up to room, food is alright with plenty choice but repetitive. Best person in that hotel who always had a smile and provided me with much needed paracetamol was Carla the pretty red haired lady on reception :) No pharmacy for 3 miles so take a good supply of tablets!! Don’t sell them in shops. ||||Little kids pool area and splash park looked good sure little ones love that! Water much better there not way too salty like main pool. ||||||Stunning area, amazing sunsets shame people let it down. Porec is beautiful and bit more friendly but pretty pricey for food etc. Oh and watch out for jellyfish!! Put the kids off and me as I got stung. See some much more scarier ones on our last day so be careful in this area. ||||We have travelled a lot and stayed in many hotels and this was really not a good experience so we will not...
Read moreRooms: if it's not too hot outside for your pleasure, go into your room, which is just another word for your personal oven. I was standing, wait for it, S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G, yes, standing inside the room. It. Was. Hotter. Than. The. Outside. I was sweating. My wife same. My baby was "connected" to a bit colder water (not too cold) - a 15month old has emptied the 0.5L in less than 5min, and he hates water. Besides the heat from hell - room has everything you need to stay outside, at pool/sea for a whole day. Small room (i actually loved the room size!), toilet/shower, bed. Oh yeah, no AC unit, bring your own fan to cool yourself. Table fan will be enough. I promise. AC works ONLY AT THE RECEPTION AND THAT PART OF THE HOTEL, everywhere else it's burning hell. Interesting fact. No matter how hot it is outside, it is still colder than your room ;) ;*
Service. EVERYONE IS NICE. EVERYONE WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY to say hi to OUR BABY. EVERYONE. Even the security guard was nice, and he was the only one that made our baby laugh, and that's not an easy task, unless you're a family member. Kudos for that! That's good side of it.
But let me tell you this. Pool was the NASTIEST of them all. Seriously. Probably more dirt, human hair (not a hair as a single line, but more like half of the scalp, and other nastiness) in it than in the sea, which was blooming (natural occurrence, can't help it). And i would rather swim in that than ever again in their pool. Children kept jumping into the pool, 0 respect towards rules of no jumping into it, or at least towards smaller children, that were inside of the pool. Cleanliness of the hotel is questionable, even though i do see the cleaning personnel almost every few hours cleaning around. Maybe it's just one for the whole hotel? Who knows? I don't. All in all, rooms/cleanliness towards 0.5, friendliness of the staff towards 100.
Location. Location. Location. Super über close to the sea (wow), pool is their private. IF YOU CAN WALK, LIKE WALK WALK, YOU HAVE A ZERO PROBLEM. Oh, you have a baby stroller? There is a person on a wheelchair? Well in this case EITHER walk down and hope for the best, leave the stroller/wheelchair at he beginning of the stairs, OR walk WHOLE WAY AROUND THE HOTEL, to reach desired destination. Elevator? Yeah right, one set of stairs will be waiting for you on your way to the sea, minimum. Without a help of super nice tourists (yes, tourists, not staff) we would have to circle around the hotel AGAIN to get to the sea. IT'S LIKE A HOTEL FROM HELL, BECAUSE IT'S HOT, BECAUSE IT HATES EVERYONE ON WHEELS AND HATES CLEANLINESS.
Food was not great. Will not go into details, it is, what it is. It is sad.
Reminder. This is not a rant or a personal vendetta against the hotel and staff. Just. I am deeply disappointed. Don't be triggered, maybe you'll have a better experience than me, if you take my advices into...
Read moreI stayed in a hotel for a weekend with my husband and a dog. We booked the room 2 days prior to the arrival.||The hotel is on a great location, near the see and near the bars of Plava laguna. Hotel has it's own beach (in August crowded over the limit). And this is where all the good thing about this hotel end.||We had one of the worse rooms (513). It was on the top floor, no roof over the balcony and facing the pool. The room is very very basic (no TV, no airconditioning). It was so hot in the room, that we barely could sleep during the night and it was impossible to be in the room during the day. Each nigth the music by the pool was so laud, that we couldn't hear each other in the room. The bathroom was new, but there was not enough pressure for the watter to run and you can only choose between very hot or very cold shower.||The bedding was clean, the room was so old, it was hard to decide whether it is not cleaned or the stains are 20 years old.||The food: it was OK, if you stay for one day, because the next day it was the same. You have to pay for the drinks, but the prices are reasonable.||The pool: unless you wait in line 1 hour before opening, there is no chance to get a chair.||Reception: despite pre-online-check-in I was asked to do on my mobile, I still had to go through the procedure at the desk and leave my personal documents there (which I think is not even legal). When I wanted to pay, the price was like 30% hugher than the one I receveid when making a reservation on line on their web page. After 3 version of the price, they finnaly charged me the right one, with no word od excuse.||And the worse thing: Covid 19 situation: the stuff wore masks (not hiding their noses), a women in the restaurant was caughing terriblly while cleaning the tables. The hotel has sanitizers all around. I was told that the hotel is not full (I do not believe it, because 95% of the hotel balconies had hanging beach towels every afternoon - indicated all the rooms have guests). No guests were wearing any masks, no 1.5m distance between guests. The hotel was really crowded and potentially dangerous to catch a desease.||The prices of the hotel are the lowest in Poreč, bust still not that low, that all the above mentiones things could be happening.||Please, Plava Laguna, do some renovation in your hotel, to make your guest have more pleasent time. Air condioning is a must!! TV as well. And reduce the number of guest by...
