Hotel Koral Medulin — Hotel in Općina Medulin

The Hotel Koral in Medulin would probably be an excellent choice for a holiday in high season, especially if you're travelling with young children. We went in October and were basically the only guests at the time, the area had closed down completely, with the nearby bus stop being disused, which meant we had a long walk up hill to the central bus stop.||||The Hotel Koral is situated right on a lovely sandy beach with beautiful crystal clear water for the family to while away the summer days. There are shops catering to tourists nearby and the hotel itself has a good restaurant which serves great pizzas. Don't go near the Risotto, though - I ordered the parmesan version and got a concoction of boiled rice, butter and the faintest hint of parmesan(?)!||||The room/suite we got was spacious for a family of 4 with 2 bedrooms, a small bathroom (shower, no bath), balcony and a living area.||||The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.||||The only real problem was with the breakfast and this may not be so much of a problem in high season. There was heavy white bread which didn't seem to be replenished from one morning to the next, croissants, but on one morning, only enough for one per guest, warmish yoghurts, boiled eggs, 2 types of cereal, watery orange juice and tea/coffee if you could find a member of staff to make it for you. ||||I got the impression that the hotel was closing down at the end of the season and staff were loathe to open a new packet of cereal or buy in new bread when supplies ran out!||||As I said, perhaps with more tourists in the area and more guests at the hotel in June, July or August, the problems we encountered would be non-existent. I would definitely recommend he Hotel Koral for those travelling to Medulin in the Summer but stay well clear of the whole area from October to May unless you're interested in watersports in the freezing cold - and even then, bring your...

There were four of us, plus a dog. The accommodation is in a great location, close to the beach – it could be the perfect place… However, when we arrived, we were surprised to see that this was just an illusion: the garbage dump behind the hotel emits such a stench that it’s unbearable to stay outside.

We stayed in a room for four, where cleanliness was an issue. The power sockets were coming out of the walls (which is dangerous, especially with a dog), and we were only provided with duvet covers, not actual duvets. The bathroom was in terrible condition, the grout was moldy.

We could have accepted all this, but what really bothered us was that during our 5-day stay, the room was never cleaned, the towels and bedding were never changed, and it wasn’t even vacuumed. By day 3, we got tired of walking around in sand, so we ended up cleaning the room ourselves. In all 5 days, we saw the cleaning staff once, and even then, they just wandered around looking bored, without doing any actual work, not even in the shared hotel areas.

This is far below the standard of a 3-star hotel. The breakfast was monotonous and tasteless, and if you went down later in the morning, the selection was very poor.

All in all, the price-to-value ratio is disappointing. We will never return, and we definitely wouldn’t recommend...

We spent 14 days camping near this restaurant with our friends and family. We tried to stop once for a small drink. We were surprised by the service, which was great, attentive and despite the many guests who are here during the season, they were able to fully attend to us. As for the food, we tried something new everyday and it was always delicious! ||We always got a parting drink as a treat. The combination of attentive service and excellent food in one place is a great rarity these days, and therefore we are happy to recommend this restaurant and at the same time we are planning to return here again.||||Veronika with family,...
