Guest House Ljubica — Hotel in Općina Plitvička Jezera

On the day we were about to travel to this accommodation, we received an email from bookimg com that our reservation had been cancelled due to an invalid credit card. This caused us a lot of stress also we had been using the credit card with no problems. I rang the property and the lady said come.| There were some communication problems due to languages. We arrived at the property and it was a little difficult communicating, the lady showed me a receipt from our bank and it seemed the bank had blocked it. I gave the lady my card and she said oh pin, so I put my pin in no problem transaction went through paid.|Now I assume the property tried to access my card and the bank blocked it, also I looked on booking com again and it said reservation was cancelled by the property. |We were very annoyed they cancelled our reservation with no regard for us and Booking Com did nothing to help either. Without giving us a chance to sort the problem out when we arrived. Espeically in a remote location like Plitvice National Park.|As for the room itself pretty basic no hair dryer, no shower soap, no remote for air conditioning, then I saw note 5 euros for air con also could not pull curtains over windows at night. Only 2 glasses and fridge were provided not good in a remote location where there are no shops or cafes apart from park cafes which close early.|The room itself was clean and tidy.|Very unhappy with this property and Booking Com. |Second time this has happened Booking Com and last time we payed up front.|Better accomodation options...

Room: We stayed in Room 5. It was pleasant with good size bed and sofas. The bathroom was a bit small but functional. However, you have to pay extra for air conditioning (€5 a day) and notices pepper the walls to remind you of additional costs you could incur.||Location: Excellent location for Plitvice Lakes visit as its just 5 mins walk from Entrance 1 and means you can park your car in a defined space. It is removed from the main road so you're unaffected by traffic.||Service: We were greeted by a lady whose first words to us were that we must move our car as it was parked in the wrong place. She was then very curt in dealing with our check in as we had changed the date of our stay at short notice. Neither host speaks English ans, as I've noted previously, this is not a reason to cry poor service but it did make the process more difficult. Two days earlier she had hung up on us over the phone as she couldn't understand us. ||Value: Our stay cost £76. This included no breakfast (which was €7 extra pp) and as noted no air conditioning. We were also charged a 3% processing fee on our cars payment. This wasn't great value for money and it felt as though our hosts were looking to make money at all opportunities.||Overall, fine and functional but 3*...

After a rough start, we ended up having a pleasant stay. Our bus driver from Zagreb didn’t stop at Entrance 1 of Plitvice Lakes and ended up dropping us over 5 kms away at the third drop off point. Fortunately for us, we called into a pizza place and the waitress knew the guest house owner so called her to let her know we were stranded. She came to collect us, but grumbled the entire way back about having to get us! She refused offers to pay her, but we felt very bad about putting her out. When shown to our room, she kept repeating a word, which I realised after some time meant she wanted us to choose our room! Her English is very limited and so this was a bit difficult.||She has a very gruff manner, as many other reviews have stated, but by the next day, she was friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable, but was cold on the first night. I didn’t realise that I could put on the heater and was put off by the extra charge signs all over the room. Apparently heaters do NOT incur an extra charge!||Room 5 has a lovely garden view. The shower is good. The room spacious. Breakfast at 7 Euro was...
