We stayed for two nights. We arrived by bus from Zagreb and headed over the bridge to the other side of the road, across the car park at entrance 1 as detailed in previous posts. It did take a bit longer to walk with our cases than we thought and you do end up walking down a road/path that appears to be going nowhere, but suddenly some buildings come into view and its like arriving at a little alpine community.||Staff were friendly and welcoming, particularly the young man with whom we had lots of conversations ( his English was very good) unfortunately can't remember his name. |Breakfast, at an extra but reasonable cost, was a very good - help yourself affair. We ate in the restaurant, both nights. Lovely little place opposite the breakfast building. Unfortunately, we found our menu choices to be rather bland in flavour and in the scheme of things, it was expensive. We did get a complimentary dessert and local shot of alcohol on our first night, which was much appreciated and also of note was the bread served with the meals, which was really thick and tasty. The beer and other drinks were more expensive than Zagreb, which was a surprise considering Zagreb is the capital. ||Our room was fairly basic but functional. Could really do with a bit of an update soon. The single beds were comfortable and we had good sleeps as it was so quiet. Things we didn't like were, there was no plug in the sink, which made face washing or shaving, difficult. The hairdryer in the bathroom didn't work, but another was provided to use in the room. This was more difficult as the only mirror was in the bathroom. There was no kettle to make a drink in your room. If you wanted a drink you had to go to the bar area and order/pay for a coffee etc. At a 70 euro a night price point, it would possibly be unreasonable to expect tea/coffee facilities in the room. A shower curtain rather than a glass door is never a good thing.||The location of course cant' be bettered as has already been stated in many reviews. Plitvice National Park /Lakes are just beautiful and so worth taking the...
Read moreWe drove a car from Split and happy we followed recommendations to stay as close as you can to the park. Free parking at the guesthouse and It is a short walk to Gate 1 from this location. They allow you to leave your car parked here even after check out if you are touring the park. Day 2 we drove to Gate 2, where we wanted to start our hike and since it was raining. Because it is so close, you can arrive early and not have an issue with parking. | It looks like a lovely property with outdoor seating for breakfast and dinner with fire pits but we had two days of rain and didn't get to enjoy those amenities. The breakfast room is a nice, a separate building from the restaurant. Breakfast was varied, reasonably priced and starts early so that you can get into the Park as it opens.|There are not many places to eat close to the park, so we were thankful to have a restaurant onsite that was a short walk from our room in the rain. The sign on the door said "Restoran Antemurale" but I could not find a listing for it. Our dinner was authentic and tasty, the special of the day was stew. The atmosphere was simple but cozy. The food and the wine were also reasonably priced even though they could price gouge you since you're close to the park with not much else around. I would imagine dining outside on the patio with the fire pit would be nice in better weather.||Our room was simple and spacious and met our needs for the one night stay. My only complaint would be there was a sewage smell in the hallway and in our room (maybe due to all the rain?). It definitely interfered with our night sleep and we had to open the windows. There appeared to be newer buildings on the property, so I probably would opt for a room in one of those next time but you can't beat the location.|*Also to note, this property is listed as "Pansion Danica" on other sites in case you are looking but it is...
Read moreStayed here for a night and paid USD102, arrived by bus and from previous reviews, I decided to head inside Plitvice Entrance 1 car park and managed to find my way to the guest house from there, took about 15 mins with luggage. Upon arrival, the male owner showed me to my room and also let me know about their plans for expanding, showed me their 2 goats etc. which was quite sweet. The room itself, it's quite basic and got that motel feel, but spacious and clean, everything worked as it should and the bed quite comfortable. Had dinner after exploring Plitvice in the afternoon, 3-course costed HRK110-120, the soup and main were nice, dessert a little bit disappointing. Breakfast costs HRK70 which was ok.||||Mainly 2 things that marred the experience, one was I messaged them wanting to check how to get to their place from bus stop but never got a reply. Second, mould in the room, also chipped bidet in toilet, so upkeep leaves a bit to be desired. ||||The location is their biggest selling point especially for those who is travelling around Croatia without a rental car. However when I considered the price and breakfast not even included vs the standard of room, I have to say value...
