Hotel & Restaurant Joso — Hotel in Općina Sukošan

Very nice hotel! We only stayed a half night because for us this hotel was a stop between our Airbnb and the flight we had in the early morning. Maybe not the most modern one, but nice and clean for sure! The bathroom looked like it was recently renovated. Just across the street is a small beach/quay where you can take a swim or walk and see all the yachts.

We were with 2 persons. We booked a room at Booking.com and there were only rooms with 3 or more beds left so we took that one. Once in the hotel the friendly receptionist said she noticed this. And instead of giving us the 'normal' room with 3 beds, she gave us an upgrade to a better room, with 2 beds and sea view! I think it was very good and nice of her to pay this much attention and tried her best to make the best out of our short stay!

We were also offered to take breakfast to our room before we went to sleep. This way we could still enjoy breakfast even though we were leaving early (03:00 in the night).

The restaurant is very close to the hotel. Friendly waiters, the atmosphere was cosy but with enough space and with seaview. The food is very affordable, not too special, but...

I was there on 14th of August 2020 around 4pm with 5 other friends to have a dinner after our week sail trip and before way home. We needed a table for six and we asked waiter outside if they have one. He said that only inside is table for 6. So we thanked him and went inside. There were only 1 table for six with reservation on 7:30pm (we came around 4pm). So we sit and then another waiter come and said that there is a reservation so we can not be there. We kindly said that we know about it, and the reservation is from 7:30pm. And then he said that we MUST ask before we sit. I said we already asked a waiter outside and this is why we came here to this table. Waiter said that we have to ask him because the other waiter is outside and he is inside. I was a bit disappointed by this. So we were discussing about that reservation at 7:30pm. He didn't want us there. We said, we will finish until 7:30pm. He repeatedly ask if we are sure! We didn't plan to eat for 3 hours. Then he said OK and bring us a menu. What a bad service?!?!

Service awful Food perfect This is why I gave only 2 stars.

If you haven't yet tried fried calamari at 'Joso's', you definitely need to 🙂 🟢 Food is cooked excellently. Really tasty, excellent ingredients, far better than you'd expect from a roadside restaurant. 🟡 BUT, quantities could be better. That is why I give it 4 ⭐️ Aforementioned fried calamari, which is the staple of this place, has an excellent quantity, and you won't be left hungry. But other dishes, like grilled calamari, are fairly small. Only two calamaries, and I ordered two side dishes, and I was still left a bit hungry. 🟢🟢 Staff is super friendly and capable. They try to make any changes to dishes that you'd like. 🟢 Plenty of parking and places to sit. 💲💲 Fairly expensive, given the portion size, you'll spend around 20€ per person.
