Portus Restaurant — Restaurant in Općina Sukošan

I recently dined at this Restaurant , and I must say the service was utterly disappointing. I have never experienced such poor service in a restaurant of this caliber.

We started with a glass of rosé and then decided to purchase a bottle of the same wine. Standard practice is to open the new bottle and pour a small taste so guests can verify its quality. Our waiter, however, simply opened the bottle and topped up our existing glasses without any explanation, question, or courtesy. He never offered fresh water or refilled glasses, despite our repeated requests.

His attitude was equally unprofessional and rude. When we mentioned that we had reserved by calling the number listed online, he snapped back that there was no phone at the restaurant. This could have been easily clarified, but instead we were brushed off and made to feel unwelcome.

The food itself was excellent—creative and expertly prepared. The kitchen clearly knows its craft. However, at €80–100 per person, such shoddy service and the overall shabby, worn-down appearance of the dining room (visible dirt and scuffed furnishings) are simply unacceptable.

It’s a shame, because with proper service and a bit more attention to detail, this place could be a real gem. As it stands, I cannot...
