Hotel Tony — Hotel in Pag

We chose this hotel as I found a very good offer on Internet, with halfboard included – two kids free of charge. So we booked a 3-nights stay over the weekend. Actually we have visited Pag before during this summer, and we liked it very much, so we knew that Pag town is a good point if you want to explore and move on the island.||We got a triple room, pretty large, with large balcony and nice sea view. The cleanliness was OK. The meals were fine too, breakfast with cold cuts and fresh cooked eggs - you are asked if you want scrambled eggs or fried eggs, etc. Dinners were with plenty of food – appetizer, main dish and desert. During breakfast we were asked to choose between two different main dishes (usually one with fish and the other one with pork or chicken). For the kids we told them to bring only one portion for both of them, as they use to waste food and not eat it properly.||The hotel is very close to the sea shore and it has a small beach. The hotel also owns a small terrace close to the beach, but it was close now (beginning of September). It is probably open during high-season.||Some things to improve: the outdoor spaces - yard and garden of the hotel. A lot of household-related things thrown away over the garden and yard, the green spaces are not taken care of at all (huge weeds all over). This costs a star in my review, otherwise I would have granted 5-stars.||We visited a few beaches around (Metajna, Novalia, etc). there is not much to drive, less than one hour. My wife and I went there in july 2012, and what a mistake we did. I booked it on booking.com and everything seemed good until we arrived to the hotel. The owner waited for us in front of the hotel to tell us that they dont have any rooms available... He also said that they didnt have time to contact us and tell us that we dont have reservation, because they had a lot of problems with guests. They have put us in an apartment nearby, and later on i found out that it was maybe better considering those dirty hotel rooms in Tony hotel. Of course in the apartment we had to buy everything, from soaps to towels, to clean it etc. And all of that was for a full hotel price. Last day of our stay they tried to cheat us in currency conversion ( euro to kuna), luckely i saw it and didnt let them, but i feel sorry for all the foreign tourists that they cheat on daily basis...|| I must admit that the restaurant was good, and Pag is one beautiful island, with lots of nice locations and beaches. ||Overall score is terrible. ||My advice is...

Dopo aver letto un po' di recensioni non proprio rassicuranti, ci siamo messi in viaggio e dopo 8 ore siamo arrivati nella città di Pag. Con qualche dubbi ci siamo diretti spediti verso l'hotel che ci attendeva per il check in... e mai sorpresa fu più gradita! Immerso in un'atmosfera tranquilla, l'hotel si distingue per l'accoglienza cordiale, la camera spaziosissima in quanto tripla (nonostante fossimo in due), la vista mare con un'orizzonte che ha dato spettacolo tutte le sere con tramonti spettacolari. Arredamento semplice ma funzionale, lenzuola pulite e cambiate spesso, tanto spazio, tv con canali italiani, aria condizionata ben funzionante e abbastanza silenziosa, buona illuminazione, balcone spazioso con tavolino e sedie, ma anche fili per tendere gli asciugamani, bagno nuovo sempre molto pulito e ben illuminato, ricambio biancheria frequente (unico difetto... le tende un po' troppo sottili fanno filtrare troppa luce per chi come me adora riposare al buio!). Il parcheggio ampio ci ha permesso di trovare sempre comodamente posto a qualunque ora del giorno e della notte. La spiaggetta privata a cui si accede facendo pochi passi direttamente dalla terrazza del ristorante è una spiaggia di ghiaia accogliente e comoda che si affaccia sul bellissimo mare di Pag. ||A pochi passi dal centro pedonale di Pag, l'hotel detiene una posizione strategica vicina al centro della cittadina in cui il porto, la piazza e le piccole strade si animano di locali, ristoranti e negozietti caratteristici, ma anche a tutte le comodità come bancomat, supermercato, veterinario... Per qualsiasi indicazione e necessità non esitate a rivolgervi alla reception, dove verrete consigliati e indirizzati a dovere (con un po di pazienza e di voglia di capirsi naturalmente!).||Dulcis in fundo... il ristorante! Definito come uno dei più buoni di Pag città e dell'isola stessa, non ho difficoltà a confermare tale definizione! La terrazza tranquilla, immersa nel verde fa da sfondo a una delle migliori cucine di pesce mai sperimentate. Da provare per i più affamati il piatto di pesce per due che vi conquisterà con tante (davvero tante) qualità diverse di pesce alla griglia e arrosto, e le vongole rigate (enormi e saporitissime... occhio ai baci dopo!). Eccellente in qualità e quantità la frittura di pesce di calamari e gamberetti, anche se il mio cuore... e la mia pancia... sono rimasti con gli spaghetti ai frutti di mare... un vero e proprio trionfo di sapori!!! Al ristorante, la disponibilità del personale diventa quasi familiare e tra una chiacchiera e l'altra, oltre a farvi dare qualche consiglio sul menù, fatevi consigliare anche qualche finepasto... personalmente la julischka della fattoria di fiducia merita più di un...
