truly and simply the dirtiest water we have seen in croatia. this part of pag island is mostly yellow sand, not the fine kind you'd find in the Caribbean but not the beautiful clean pebble beach you typically see in croatia either. i do not mind its yellow color, but it is not clean sand. it is a mix of rough sand, dirt and a lot of grime. the water was so murky i could not see my bright hot pink water shows when i looked down and i am only 165 cm tall. not only is it dirty but it is also warm so not refreshing at all on a hot day. this beach and in fact the entire stretch of this part of shore from pag town is lined with small boats, people with kids in saggy diapers in and out of water. between all the boats, diapers, grime, garbage in water, i went in knee deep but could not continue on - i was so grossed out i had to get out and come home. pag island has many pristine wild sparsely populated beaches, but you won't find it any where near pag town. unless for whatever the reason, you cannot and won't venture out (e.g. 50 min drive to the other side of the island), i cannot fathom why anyone would spend their...
