So the hotel has gone through a major renovation the photos at Google are inaccurate. I must say here that we booked the superior room maybe the simple one hasn't yet gone through renovation the difference in price is about 7 euros per night so I believe it's worth it . The superior rooms are very nice with white and grey minimalistic design, brand new tv, a/c and safe. The bathroom is brand new with shower. Some of the amenities are shower and bath gel also a body lotion, towels and one bottle of mineral water (no charge) . Some of the cons of the room is that there isn't a fridge, hair dryer and at least in our case a phone (which after our request was provided). As far as the hotel and the common areas in general we didn't have the chance to see the breakfast buffet but we had burgers for lunch from the hotel restaurant the portions were medium to big very tasty and the ingredients looked to be of very good quality we had them served in our room (room service price 2 euros extra) The price of the burgers was around 12 euros each and in the whole menu there wasn't a main dish less than 9 euros, so I would say if I compare with the local restaurants that the prices are normal if you take into account the quality and the portion. Some of the cons was that there wasn't a paper menu only an electronic version through a tablet that we couldn't take into our room so we had to go to the bar choose what we like and make the order there . Also it was a very hot day and apart from the reception there wasn't a single other common space with working a/c. The pool is very nice but remember this is a family hotel so as such there were a lot of kids which I do not consider a con there is a lot of space around the pool area that you can sit and enjoy your coffee, drink or snack. There is a big screen at the bar where you can see main sports events (like fifa World Cup). As far as the location of the hotel it is about 20 minutes walking to the old port, Castle of limasol and the New marina also 8 minutes away on foot there is a bus stop that about every 15 minutes bus number 30 passes that can take you to the mall or to the beaches. Right next to the hotel there is a 24 hours mini Market. The staff was very friendly and eager to help us and the hotel looked very organised. In general was a very good experience I would suggest it to others as far as value for money hotel and I would like to...
Read moreThe rooms are old but clean. Their breakfast buffet is good. However, 1) cross check the bill while checking out and 2) DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL'S TAXI SERVICE. At check out, I was initially asked to pay €108 when the detailed bill was actually €18. The receptionist laughed it off as a computational error. Secondly, the taxi service is abhorrent. I booked a taxi through Pefkos Hotel to reach Paphos. I was told a set price and agreed to it but when once we reached Paphos, the taxi driver asked for more. When I asked why it was more than the agreed price, he made excuses like "I had to wait at the hotel" and "construction detour". Again, I got delayed leaving because of the exorbitant checkout bill that the hotel tried to give me. When I tried explaining this, the driver got very aggressive, raised his voice, yelled and asked me to "shut up" multiple times. All of this was happening at 6am on a deserted stretch of road, nowhere near my actual drop off point. By this time, he had already stopped the car, unbuckled his seatbelt, was turned around and threatening me. Fearing for my safety, I exited the car. Thankfully a random person on the street heard the yelling and came to intervene. I was shaken, and paid him the initial agreed upon amount to just end this encounter. He threw my bags out and drove off, swearing the entire time. As a solo female traveller, it was extremely scary and upsetting. The most disappointing part was that when I immediately called the Pefkos Hotel to report him, they refused to take accountability for their taxi partners. The receptionist (same as the one who gave me the exorbitantly high bill) pretended to not know the name of the taxi service or that particular driver. The hotel receptionist then ended the call saying that I was being unreasonable and if I had such a big problem, I should not have used their taxi service to begin with.
In conclusion, only stay at this hotel if you have no other option. This was booked for me by my French work place and I will be recommending that Pefkos Hotel is removed from our list of...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel a week ago for 10 nights. I can't begin to explain how bad Limassol town was and the Pefkos Hotel. The staff were rude and unapproachable and would not tell you how to get to the local buses - just that they could book a taxi for you. The first few nights had a buffet dinner and then without any notice it was the same three course menu every evening. I found out later that they were catering for people at lunch time instead. They encouraged locals to hire the pool out and the pool was full of non resident kids screaming and splashing water. Thew staff then played load music all afternoon. The staff are racist towards British People. The room was very old fashioned and did not have a plug for the bath. The guests were supposed to get complementary tea and coffee as promised when booking the hotel but we never saw this. There was no tourist information or leaflets in the hotel and the staff were unapproachable to ask. The room was on the main road and cars were racing at night. As for Limassol - this was a dump; roads and pavements not finished and building site everywhere. I would not return to Pefkos Hotel or Limassol again. The beach was a 20 minute walk to bus stop...
