Arrived at 10.30 at night, lovely welcoming reception area, receptionist very pleasant. Told us to leave cases and go to bar and get a drink. Bar manager introduced himself and staff and was all over us. Not once in the 2 weeks we were there was he ever pleasant again. Some of his staff were not great either. The 2 Filipino girls were wonderful, smiles, chatted , remembered names and drinks. They made our holiday. Rooms were lovely, modern, huge bed, lovely walk in shower. We were at far end of hotel just off reception which suited us as very few stairs to come up and down. We looked across to private apartments which were quite close but as we were never in our room during the day it didn’t bother us. We were at least away from the noisy building works. Dining room huge, breakfast excellent choice, only negative the juice was out a machine and was tasteless. Breakfast manager lovely and full of fun. The rest of the staff could not have cared less. Tall, thin restaurant manager was not nice, never spoke, never said good evening, nothing. Anytime we have been in Cyprus they greet you with calispera and calimera depending on time of day, nothing. He also went about 8.40 at night and filled his plate with food and sat and ate his dinner, meanwhile staff were running around trying to get tables cleared and reset for breakfast. Lunch in dining room was okay, they had a barbecue area outside which we assumed would be on every day, 2 items every second day. I believe this has been downsized since new head chef has arrived. Dinner was lovely, good choice of meats, very well labelled. Desserts were very disappointing, bland, not very well decorated etc etc. You are shown to a table at night which is nice and asked what you would like to drink, they order and another member of staff brings your drink, this system works well until you want a top up, you have practically to lasso the staff to come and get you another drink. On a few occasions I went up to the bar area myself to get a refill. |We didn’t go to entertainment as it was shoved in a small corner at pool and 2 bar staff serving. We went to the upstairs bar. Some nights they brought popcorn out, and strangely offered the same tables a dish and then came back and offered them a second, on our 2 weeks we were not once were offered popcorn, neither were the couples we met. Very inconsistent. No other snacks were offered at any time of the day. |Pool was lovely, swim up bar, pool was roasting right from 9 am in morning. Lovely grassy area which we enjoyed as you are not right next to anyone. |Now to the things that were not so great|You are only allowed to change your towels every 3rd day. We went a few days and no towels. Pool toilets were awful, down a set of stairs, floors soaking which is understandable as people going in wet but toilets you could hardly get in. I am a size 12 and had to squeeze in the door to get it shut. Toilets had years of dirt on tiles, round bottom of loo was all stuck with silicone and both toilets were squint. Had obviously been put in like that. Never once did I see anyone cleaning them. The inside toilets at dining room were not much better, could be doing with a major clean round doors, skirtings etc. |Drinks!!!! These were definitely watered down, the gin tasted the same as the vodka as did the rum. The only thing we found that was decent was the wine. Bar manager was rude to his staff and the staff at the pool bar were just not pleasant, your drink was flung at you. No slice of orange, lemon etc in any drink. They did 2 cocktails every day, just a giant slush puppy with very very little alcohol in them. We did hear regulars saying the drinks had definitely changed. |Hotel is in a lovely area, beautiful beach and lovely walks along the sea. Good bus service at door. Will we return, not so sure. We did enjoy our holiday as it was the rest we went for and we certainly got that. Definitely need brought up to a better standard especially with a big new hotel being...
Read moreMy wife and I have been here 3 times now and will definitely be returning. This is a modest hotel, and not very big, but that is the appeal.
The decor of the hotel is not grand, but it is nicely decorated. Always greeted with a drink a reception and a smooth check in process, with staff assisting with luggage from your transfer to your room if you wish.
Adjacent the reception area is the main bar with inside seating (chairs and sofas), and outside seating (chairs), with a view over the pool, garden and then the sea. You can go to the bar for service, however there are a great waiting team who will take your orders from the table and have your drinks brought over in double time. Special mention to Christos the bar manager, who does everything he can to make sure you're having a good time.
From the reception you have 2 lifts of which can take you down to the spa and up to the rooms (there are also some ground level rooms). The standard rooms are not grand, but they are pleasant and have everything you need. The beds are comfy, and the rooms are always cleaned well. There is a fridge in the room for your use, and when the room is serviced a large bottle of water is left for you (always needed after a few glasses of long island ice tea). You will find beach towels in the room also.
Heading down one level from the reception is the spa and laundry room. The laundry room includes a (paid for) washer and drier. There is also an iron and ironing board for your use. The spa is lovely, includes a gym, showers and changing rooms, a steam room and sauna, an indoor pool, a hair salon, and rooms for a huge selection of treatments. The spa is also where you bring your beach towels (up to 3 times per week) to be changed for clean ones.
Down another level, and you have the buffet restaurant, the a la carte restaurant, and the exit to the pool, gardens and beach.
The buffet restaurant serves breakfast (inc. late breakfast), lunch, dinner and has a snack bar open between lunch and dinner. The food is always fantastic, with lots of selection and always something for everyone. They tend to theme nights (Sunday roast dinner, Chinese night, Cypriot night etc.). There is a good selection of gluten free and "health food" options. If you have an allergy, the head chef will give you a tour each meal time and confirm what is safe for you to eat.
The a la carte restaurant is good, nothing special but it is included once per stay as part of your all inclusive, and makes a nice change.
Adjacent the restaurant is the main entertainment area, and a bar of which opens each evening for the entertainment. Evening entertainment is good, and has improved over recent years.
The pool is a good size, and great quality comfy loungers surrounding it. The garden is also full of loungers. Special mention to Will and Maureen who will keep you topped up with drinks while by the pool or in the garden all day. There is a swim up pool bar where you can also order your own drinks.
Throughout the day, the TUI reps have a wide range of activities if you like to keep busy, from garden games to aqua fit. Special mention again to Rosanna, our entertainment rep this year who was incredible.
The garden leads on to a shared beach between this hotel and the neighbouring. The beach is sandy, and the sea is clear and beautiful. The loungers do need to be paid for.
Overall, coming to this hotel feels like being part of one big family. All of the staff are super friendly and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. You'll never go without.
I do not have any mobility issues, but the hotel appears to be well built for anyone who does. I have seen many wheelchair uses and those with walking support at this hotel, they also appear to reserve sunbeds for those.
It's a 2 minute walk to the local shop and ATM. There is a sports bar across the road. It's about 15 minutes on the bus into the nearest big town which costs €1.50, alternatively about 10 minutes and...
Read moreWe received an e mail off tui about 3 weeks before we were due to leave for this hotel saying there was another hotel being built next door and if we want to cancel or change we could . After looking around we decided we would go ahead and take our chances . This was the best decision we made . There was four of us , myself and my hubby , my daughter and her partner . We didn’t get to the hotel till 2 am and was offered some. Fresh made lemonade and in our room which was spotlessly clean some little wrap sandwiches and a bottle of water in the fridge . |We was woken by the building work going on and was like oh no please no . But to be honest it wasn’t overtly loud . We heard it agin the second day but after that it seemed to have quietened down and it really did not bother us . One or 2 people asked to be moved which they were . The work going on really did not affect our holiday at all . |After having a bereavement all we wanted was a well needed chilled holiday and this is exactly what we got . |The pools and surrounding area was spotless also , and the best thing no matter what time you went down for a bed there was always plenty there so no waking stupid o clock and the mad rush of getting one . We always choose the grass are because we found around the pool too hot . We were firstly worried about ants or mosquito bites . Not a single one . Lots of things to get involved in around the pool and gardens . Quizzes water volley ball , kick darts but what turned out to be my favourite the aqua aerobics , I had never joined in before, so much so I’m looking for a class now I’ve come home . There was a little coved beach at the side of hotel which was lovely and calm and just a nice little change . The food well my daughter is soooo fussy but there was plenty to choose from and different themed evening there was always something she enjoyed . Lots of choice .the alcohol drinks were lovely , no need for a privilege cos you were spoilt for choice . We were aloud one free evening at the culinary restaurant and just wow . It was a four course and you was really made to feel special . I ordered the mushroom soup which if I must say looked like dish water but omg it was the most flavoursome soup I’ve ever had just stunning . I and had a stunning octopus second course Then duck and a crème brûlée to finish . You must go go there just beautiful. |Entertainment could have been a bit better but everyone joined it and made a real good evening . |There is nothing and I mean nothing outside the hotel ( which never bothered us ) we had all we wanted in the hotel . Right outside the hotel was a bit which I think was every ten or 15 minutes and for 2 euro would take you right into prataras or you could have a 6 euro day pass to Aeya Napa . My daughter and her partner went there for snorkelling etc . |Would I go to this hotel again ? 100% I absolutely loved it there . I needed a nice quiet chilled holiday and that’s exactly what I got . The staff are amazing and so friendly and welcoming .Beni fetched my iced cold coffee every morning while I lay on the bed to chill for the day x Do not let the work next door put you off . This turned out to be one of the best...
