This Guest House is a bit far from Cesky Krumlov city centre (25 minutes walk), but it was not the main issue why I did not enjoy my stay there. When you see it, it is a nice cosy place. Rooms not so cosy, but clean, ok. The main issue are the owners!||||The lady at the Reception and her husband were really unfriendly, unwilling and most of all really rude. We should have gotten a better price because our friend who was getting married in Cesky Krumlov arranged this guest house, but the lady told us that she did not know about it, maybe her husband ddi, but she didnt even bother checking it with him.||||The breakfast was really poor, I came there at 9.30am and the owner was keep asking me if I am the last one. Almost nothing was left there, he was "kind enough" to bring me a roll and ham, that was all. Even fresh tea was not there, I just had to pick a "Tesco Value" tea bag, the owner then poured hot (not even boiling) water to it. When I asked if I could get some lemon, he just murmed that he probably does not have it, I had to ask for that twice and finally got it. Anyway the owner then told me that I was being very "sour" asking for the lemon! I would not expect such service for 60 EUR for double room/night!||||Terrible attiude, terrible people who dont really enjoy working in hospitality services. CESKY KRUMLOV IS SUCH A LOVELY PLACE AND THERE ARE SO MANY NICE GUEST HOUSES, SO PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND BOOK A PLACE...
Read moreThe room was average, but very gaudy. Uncomfortable bed, but clean.||||The maps online to this hotel have been altered to deceive guests, it is actually twice as far from Cesky Krumlov and outside of the city limits, we had my older parents with us and walking the extra distance was hard for them. This is not the only misleading thing about this hotel's advertising, the secured parking is tiny and was full on our arrival, the TVs do not work as advertised and the "extensive buffet" breakfast is bread rolls and coffee from a battered plastic flask. ||||The lady at reception was the rudest person I have ever met at a hotel, agressive, smug and unhelpful. I am used to typical "basic" Czech service but she really went out of the way to make dealing with her horrible. She was so rude that my girlfriend actually asked in Czech if we had somehow offended her, she responded "if you don't like it you can leave." So that's how guests of this hotel are treated. The only reason we stayed was because hotels in the area are routinely booked out, which is probably the same reason this awful person continues to work there. ||||Poor value for money too, very expensive. You should be able to get an independant room in town for the same price, less the half hour walk there, and the insulting behaviour. ||||Avoid this hotel unless you enjoy dealing with awful...
Read morePenzion U Hamru is right off the road just before you arrive in Cesky Krumlov. It is a family owned penzion and the owner is very fair and very friendly. My sister speaks basic German and the owner was very hospitable and tried to make us feel very welcome, and even gave us a tour of the renovations that were done and showed us pictures of the restoration process. It was fascinating.||The penzion offers a continental breakfast that is included in the price of the room. The rooms are small, but they are clean and dry, and the beds, although not the most comfortable, do offer a chance at a peaceful nights sleep. ||The location is pretty good as well. It is only a 19 minute walk to the town along mostly paved road off of the street. You will have to cross the street to get to the path, but it is easily done. And I felt very safe walking there in the afternoon and back at night. ||There are two or three houses that you might stay in. We thought we were in the main house, but we were in the house next door, which they own also. It worked out pretty well. There isn't a lot of parking there though. But they do offer free wifi.||If you wish to drive into the city instead of walking, there are at least three good sized public parking areas that are...
