Hotel Fontána — Hotel in okres Brno-město

We discovered the scenic Brno Reservoir + surroundings.||2. Minutes from MotoGP Brno Circuit.||3. Quiet, tranquil. Rustic Scene-Front View.||||The hotel could do with updating/coat of paint; the info on the net page does not show what we experienced. In reality, it looked like it was opened up for the people-overspill from an event that was happening, despite the fact we booked it last year for this year. We had a balcony room (whoopee we thought) which has a remarkably fresh corner bath/shower, wash-basin and clean enough toilet but no toilet roll holder - the toilet roll stood on the toilet brush in its holder! An electric socket was hanging off the wall. Shame the balcony rail is rusty and blistered and the faded rattan/wicker is unwinding itself from the sad looking chairs. The view from the balcony took in the most pleasing Brno Reservoir in the distance but down below us is the overgrown backyard (?) with various faded roofs. The flue blesses/serenades us with its fumes (we told them) and monotonous gas boiler tune all night, every night. We left the room and balcony doors open, cos of the heat; the room has the sun all day in this stifling dramatic heat of August 2018 and there is no usable curtains and the blinds miss their vocation! There is no air conditioning or electric fan. 😓 I asked if I could have use of a hair dryer as there was none in the room but was told that they had one but it was broken. C'est la vie!||||The reception and dining staff are pleasant, polite. The hotel is far from the hustle and bustle, so it is nicely quiet. But because it is not in the "city", it would show consideration if they "were" less rigid and kinder with simple, off-the-food-menu request like making an omelette! Hey ho! Breakfast has been abit hit and miss when it comes to coffee-making facilities, and putting out the utensils for the various fayre/cereal bowls, the milk etc! But the breakfast staff are agreeable 👍 and came up with the goods when they eventually understood what was missing.||||All in all, there are eureka moments at the hotel but preferably not to...

We chose this hotel on purpose because we knew that during the International show of fireworks - Ignis Brunensis - there is a very nice view of the show (and you can still enjoy the comfort of your room). We had a voucher from one Czech discount travel portal and it included half board, wellness and 3 hours of bike rental. Upon our arrival on Saturday there was a big wedding reception in the restaurant so the dinner was served in a different room. We got a room on the opposite side of the hotel (lovely view of the Brno dam) so we did not hear any noice from the wedding party. We were a family of 2+2 so we got 2 room apartment which was very spacious, well equipped and renovated but no luxury. The wellness is a nice pool (10x5m), jacuzzi (occupied for one hour by the same people :-( with no chance to get in), Infra sauna, scandinavian sauna, massaze bathtub - this part is super-modern and very nice and it was great to use it on a Saturday rainy afternoon.||In the evening we took the bikes for rent we had in the voucher - there is also one small bike for a child (aprox 20"). We enjoyed very much the cycling around the dam.||This hotel can be recomended for those who need a nice hotel near the Brno dam while you can also explore the nearby castle Veveri (lovely trip by a boat...

we have visited this hotel for a wedding. the area is great - near lake, we had the luck of this summer fireworks competition. however also without it, it was great combination of having inside and outside space, with nice grill area, fountain and also children playground. the food also nice, and some delicious desserts.||on the other hand - somehow did not like the thing that they haven't been able to prolong the breakfast to at least 11, when after weeding. ||and also even it was triple room booked for us, we got double instead. the only good thing - that the beds are quiet big, so we have been able to sleep.||even we liked the wedding, I think these are thing that...
