We have booked an unlimited wellness stay with deluxe room for two nights. The wellness was OK, but the room was an absolute disaster.
1st of all, I've never seen a deluxe room in 4* hotel that is a double room with locked door in the middle and you can hear everything in the other room, without an armchair, where you can sit and read a book. Only two small broken chairs, that was barely able to hold my jeans and jacket withouth getting broken are included in this 350e per night room. No balcony and a bad smell in the room was also a surprise. Also paper-thin walls are worth to be mentioned here, you can hear everything that happens in the hall, in the next room, the room above....
the AC did't work. there was a 26°C in our room during the day. and 25,5°C at 22:30, when we went to bed. We asked, and complained about that multiple times during our 2night stay. every time they told us, they will send/ have sent a technic worker to our room to check it. but nobody has ever show. after 4th or 5th complaint they started the heating in our room, and it could not be turned off from within the room. The temperature was 26°C at the moment. After I yelled on them trough the phone, if it is so complicated to turn on an AC? The AC started working, without a visit of a technician. Just like a miracle. Of course they turned it OFF after 15min. Because it was 8PM and the AC only worked in some intervals.... We tried to open the window to at least get the fresh air inside, but during the day an enormous number of ladybugs flew inside. it was like 10+bugs pre 2min. In the night there was a lot of noise and as it was late october the temerature outside went from 24°C to 9°C so you can imagine how comfortable was our sleep. The most outrageous is the comunication with the reception. They smile, they tell you they'll fix everything. But they just lying. Don't even try to help you. Oh boy, I've been to Mumbai-India and have better time getting something done at the hotel then in MAXIMUS. I felt like they are joking with me.
the situation in the shower. like for real? the temperature is oscilating around the value you set. You found the perfect temerature. but after a minute it went +5°C then -5°C then back to what you set and again every 1-2mins. So it has burning and freezing moments. All the time! at the morning, after lunch, after dinner. Don't understand if this was a problem only in my room, or how the ppl get shower at this hotel, do they don't mind getting burned ?
The hotel is being fully booked on weekends and obviously the building is not sufficient for this capacity. The plumbing, the noise level in the room.... the ability to change your room when something happens with the technical stuff....
The hotel showed 0 effort to clarify this situation!
I don't even know how is it possible to grant ** to a hotel like this...
Just a small reminder from an unhappy guest: You should lower your rating, because it sets expectations too high. And than the reality check is by that much...
Read moreWellness and spa hotel maximus ** is what you see above the entrance - the reality could not be further away from that expectation. After paying EUR 270 (one night) for a room with balcony and view (according to the reservation site) we got a room with a parking lot view above the banquet area were a wedding party took place - understandable but very noise and not really what you expect for that price. The room itself was ok, but also here not really four star standard. The equipment was worn off, flooded bath when you take a shower ... The food quality and also the assortment of the breakfast buffet was just disappointing. But the most disappointing aspect was the wellness. Hotel guests also have to pay the wellness extra (which we knew beforehand). A day in the wellness area is roughly EUR 50 per person, together with ALL the other external day guests, in ALL areas. This place is PACKED. one small indoor/outdoor pool and some packed jacuzzis surrounded by dirty drinking cups. The reception for the wellness area is strangely enough at the end of the sauna area, so many people walk trough were you are supposed to be mainly naked ... Overall with so many people it is just dirty and gross.. the floors are always super wet and slippery, every couple of meters you have a gate to check your access, you are not allowed to put your things on a lounger. The whole area itself would be nice but it is just way too crowded and the wellness factor is gone - at least for a guest of the hotel...we ended up having one hour in the wellness area (for around EUR 25/person) on our arrival day and we were happy to leave again. We left right away on the morning next day .. finally, unfortunately, also the service was nothing to positively mention. after seeing the room the first time we raised our concerns regarding the price performance, the noise and the view. As nobody was in charge and the manager was not present, we received after some discussions and call with the manager an offer for a small room with additional 2h entrance to the wellness. This offer would have not been even close to the price we paid for our original room. What a joke. Also at checkout we pointed out our disappointment as the manager was present this time. The final feedback was: ok, we can tell the owner but there is nothing we can do. The best thing about this trip was leaving the hotel, unfortunately with 300 Eur less in...
Read morePools were payable.. we did not know that before coming. They we're also open for public and not just for the hotel guests so they we're crowded. They say that they have a limit on how maney people can enter but they really don't.. you cant relax at all. Also the prices are crazy.. its around 20+ € for 2 hours per person. It would be better to just pay more while booking the room.. we have to keep chaching the clock not to over stay. Also the water is not clean since people are drinking in the water and they spilled drinks. Breakfast: stale, only small amount of options to chose from, no warm milk option. Rooms: air conditioning set to 23 and after changing to +3 resets regularly, terrace shared with multiple other rooms (no separation), hard bad, no sound isolation so all the time you could hear noises from other rooms or the hallway (even during the night). Personal: all the personal was really nice and friendly. All mails and initial contact is in Czech language even if provided language was English. Shuttle bus is not to the city but just a 5 min. ride to one of the tram stations that is around 20/30 min from the city center. When using the shuttle you can go further with the Tram. We used an app called sejf (sejf brno) to get an mobile ticket. There is no Information in Hotel how to get a ticket. We left a day early and they wanted us to pay for our stay even tho we paid over booking. We had a dog with us and for the animal you are supposed to pay at the property just the nights that they stay there, but we had to pay for all the nights even if he wasn't there. He only stayed...
