I have pretty low expectations for a decent hotel (mattress and shower) and this one failed miserably. The beds were 2 tiny single beds and the mattresses were paper thin. The floors, desk and walls were dirty. No amenities were supplied except a bar of sad soap. We asked for an extra blanket so that I could put it under me to try to sleep on the plywood and the front desk guy just said no. Flat out with no explanation. The walls are also very thin. You can hear the people above go to the washroom and the guy next door talking. The only redeeming qualities were that the shower was hot with lots of pressure and the lovely girl at the front desk helped to print our tickets. If they have a room with better beds then this hotel might have been ok but that seems unlikely. The room came with breakfast but the horrible smell in the hallway every morning and the cleanliness of the walls and floors deterred us...
Read moreWe had reservation but sadly not for our car, because I did not read the confirmation letter froma top to bottom where they said that they need double booking for car. We arrived and let our car on the street where you can enter the courtyard of hotel - which was empty from cars and started to check in. Some car wanted to drive in so we said that let us in the yard end then we continue our check in. Front desk personal was rude and sent us to find parking space some half of mile away. We are 64 years old - they did not suggest that we can put our luggage to our room and then go and find parkind space in foreign city, so we sat in our car and drove away to Poland where we found polite people and stayed a very pleasant night. P.S there was police sign in front dest -that in this city Ostrava is high criminality - so don´t go there! there are rude hotel...
Read moreThe hotel is conveniently located and obviously has been renovated (or converted from a block of flats). The rooms are (unusually) small and clean and functional. Breakfast not bad but leaves something to be desired: e.g. cups don't come with saucers, bread pieces have to be picked by hand, there are queues for the slow coffee machine. In at least two rooms (as a colleague agreed) the small refrigerators make a constant noise, not terribly loud but still disturbing for bad sleepers. On one night there was no hot water or heating. They proudly advertised a bakery on the premises, but nothing was available at the weekend. Friendly reception staff. In view of the above one expects...
