Hotel VP1 | UBYTOVÁNÍ POD PECÍ — Hotel in okres Ostrava-město

This hotel is located on the former Dolni Vitkovice steel mill site in Ostrava. If your primary reason for visiting Ostrava is to pay a visit to the historic site and interpretive centre that the steel mill was converted to after it ceased operating, this hotel is most conveniently placed and serviceable.||Hotel VP1 is rather no frills in approach and has a distincly dormatory feel to it. The rooms are clean, but a bit spartan in decor. You get basic beds, television, table and chairs, bedside tables and wardrobes.||The bathrooms in the rooms are similarly no frills. They are clean and you are provided with basic toilettries that any hotel might provide, but nothing extra.||Overall, the hotel gives the feel of a place primarily for you to keep your things while you are out doing other things, and to sleep . If you are the sort of person who considers the hotel experience to be an integral aspect of your overall travel experience, VP1 will probably not satisfy you.||The check-in was easy enough and I found the front desk staff I dealt with could all speak English well enough and were helpful and friendly.||At the front desk, you can buy some basic souvenir items as well as snack foods, soft drinks or beer.||Breakfast was an interesting experience as I was offered a selection of three different breakfasts and a range of times to have it delivered to my room the next morning.||My breakfast was delivered on time and with a smile. It was a pretty standard continental type of bread rolls along with some sliced meat, cheese and vegetables along with a glass of juice and cup of coffee. It was certainly enough to get my day started well.||The VP1 is located very close to a tram stop of the Ostrava public transit system and is quite easy to get to from the main train station if you arrive in the city via rail.||I only have a couple of real complaints about the hotel:||The beds are not particularly comfortable. I was able to sleep, but it certainly wasn't a great sleep. If I was to stay on Ostrava for more than a night or two, I would look for other accomodations that might offer more in the way of creature comforts than VP1 does.|| If you arrive to the hotel via the nearest public transport stop, it's easy enough to find. However, navigating to the hotel on foot through the surrounding district of the city was rather tricky as there is not much signage at street level to guide you there and the hotel is rather tucked away from street view. It would be nice to see more signage around to guide people to the hotel.||I wouldn't discourage you from using VP1, but just know that you won't be getting anything...

Novotou vonící hotel, výborné parkování, v recepci příjemná a usměvavá paní. Pokoj 201 v patře budovy ART, schody mírné, první dojem z pokoje skvělý - reliéf hutí po celé stěně je skvělý, v místnosti příjemný zátěžový koberec, výborné osvětlení, zrcadlo, stolek + židličky, stylový úložný a odkládací systém je super, jen závěs na ramínka byl dost vysoko, ale OK, SmartTV (Netflix), wi-fi rychlé a stabilní. Dvoulůžko je široké, dělené s vysokou tvrdší matrací, příjemné povlečení i polštář, u postelí lampičky a zásuvky 220 V, na oknech síť a závěsy – spalo se fajn. Koupelna bez podlahového topení, s žebříkem na sušený (ten byl ale studený), walk-in + sprchová baterie bez termostatu. Na pokoji vše čisté, naklizené, navoněné, naprosté ticho. Oproti sesterskému hotelu přes ulici je pobyt zde trochu dražší, ale odpovídající - budova i pokoje mají styl, hezká je i galerie na chodbách … Vše super, až na platbu ... cena pobytu přes booking.com byla o 110 CZK vyšší, než uvádí ceník v recepci (2 210 CZK/2 100 CZK)… cestujeme hodně po celé Evropě (na booking.com přes 400 ubytování), s podobným „přenesením nákladů“ = provize booking.com na zákazníka jsme se ještě nesetkali  - jde o marketing, který pro hotel dělá externí dodavatel, musí to tedy být náklad hotelu, ne zákazníka – nejde o stovku, jde o princip. Mně osobně takový přístup silně vadí a příště se ubytuji jinde, co se týče kvality a ceny ale pobyt doporučuji.
