Hotel Purkmistr — Hotel in okres Plzeň-město

This was our second stop over at the Purkmistr. It's a great place to stop off if in the area, either for a one-nighter or longer, as there are regular tram and bus services through to the city centre from this hotel in the suburbs. Offers a comprehensive menu and first rate beer, brewed on site, plus a range of wellness facilities - some beer related, like a beer spa! We had a room at the rear of the hotel, which was really quiet, clean and spacious. Air conditioning and good wi-fi are a bonus too. Food at dinner and breakfast are very good, with solid Czech cooking. Plentiful car parking is available in a site across the road. ||||We had dinner in the restaurant and went for roasted pig knee and roast duck - delicious. With several beers, and soup to start - we couldn't find room for dessert - the bill was a very reasonable 930 Crowns (€36). Service was also prompt...

This was, hands down, the best part of my 1 week in the Czech Republic. I would go back to that country ONLY to go here...just drop me from a helicopter and pick me up a week later. I had a GREAT spa experience -- an hour in the "wellness zone" where I had a sauna, steam room and 10 person hot tub TO MYSELF, with an LCD panel to order drinks, change the music and lighting. Then I had a beer bath, which speaks for itself. Next, I had the BEST MEAL of the Czech Republic visit ----- beef ribs with fresh horseradish, red cabbage and their wonderful beer. We stayed here for one night and also had one of the beer spas. The hotel is out of the centre so we got a taxi from the main station to get there which cost just under £10. The room we had faced the main courtyard and was very spacious, comfortable and quiet despite facing the main entrance. In addition to the stay, we also had a beer spa which costs extra but is well worth it.
