Hotel Olympia — Hotel in okres Trutnov

We are just completing a stay a the Olympie Hotel in Sv. Petr right next to Spindleruv Mlyn and it was a very nice few days here. ||The room was adequately sized, which means that it had space to walk around and handle luggage but it did not waste space either. It had a wooden decor with was fitting the location and even had a small balcony. The best thing, though, was the view. You get a full window of mountain and nothing else. Because the property is located on a slight incline there are no other buildings to obscure that view and it is great.||The restaurant in large enough for all of the hotel guests, features outside seating when the weather allows it and has decent prices. Overall I would say that food is affordable without being cheap. The best thing is that it is tasty, well prepared and excellently served. The waiting staff is very careful and friendly, they accommodated our whims and made sure we had a good experience regardless of whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu is not extensive, quite the opposite, but the choices are varied enough to cater to most tastes.||The pool and whirlpool are rather small but when you take into account the size of the property you realize they are quite ok. It may get crowded at times during the weekend but come week-days you can have the whole place to yourself. The best part about the wellness amenities is the massage. Radim does an excellent job and both my wife and I were extremely happy with his service. As opposed to other therapists we have visited, he really understands the human body, the way muscles are laid out and how they work. As a result he is able to identify what may be troubling you without you telling him. He speaks perfect English so we got along great.||There are other amenities like children's playground, conference center and whatnot but we did not pay attention to those so they are not part of this review.||For a 3 star superior property this was excellent. You get a great bang for your buck and we can't wait to get back on our next...

We stayed 3 days in this hotel in summer with my boyfriend and really liked it. The location is perfect : you are in a walking distance from the center of Splinderuv Mlyn (30-40 min) and at the heart of the nature with amazing view of the hills and ski slope. ||The hotel is nicely decorated in a mountain style. When you are in the indoor bar or outside on the terrace, you believe to be in Alps. Some rooms have been completely renovated and some of them will go through reconstruction as well. I think our room was not renovated yet, however the bathroom seems to be new and very modern! I just missed a bit more of hungers on the walls and a mirror in the room (probably it will come soon :)) ||The spa is great - spacious enough but cosy, modern, very clean with a terrace perfect to relax, sun bath and contemplate the beautiful green view. ||The staff of the hotel is friendly and professional, especially in the spa and at the reception. The owner himself is present there, so you feel he cares about the guests, about the place and maintains a friendly atmosphere. ||We took half board option with breakfast and dinner included. Breakfast is good, quite usual, we had all what we needed. Dinner is rather local Czech cuisine - a lot of meat, dumplings, potatoes... if you are vegetarian or eat light in the evening, this option may not be completely suitable for you - maybe better to take offers a la carte. There are also some local and foreign wines. You can notice a nice wine collection in the bar - this is the owner's hobbies - it gives a particular touch to the restaurant. ||The only thing I didn't appreciate is to wake up in the morning with a very strong meat and onions smell of some food being cooked - probably coming from the restaurant while they were cooking lunch or dinner. Not sure what could be done about it though...||To summarize, the hotel is a great choice for those who loves nature, beautiful views, hiking and skiing but also the comfort, relax and friendly service. Der Aufenthalt im Hotel Olympie könnte mit der Einrichtung im Landhaus-Holz-Stil so schön sein, wenn, ja wenn… Unser Zimmer war komplett mit Holz verkleidet – das fanden nicht nur wir schön, sondern auch die uneingeladenen Mitbewohner - in den Holzbalken wohnen Holzkäfer aka Hylotrupes bajulus und deren Maden, die ununterbrochen, direkt am Kopfkissen leben und kauen. In der Nacht war es besonders schlimm, wenn man an den Ort, an den man zur Erholung gekommen ist, nicht schlafen kann, weil ein Zentimeter über dem Kopf Maden das Holz anfressen. Als wir das an der Rezeption gemeldet haben, haben wir keine Entschuldigung bekommen, sondern nur „dann müssen Sie eben gehen, wir können da eh nichts machen.“ Wir haben mit unserem Smartphone Käfer-Fress-Tonaufnahmen davon gemacht, wir sind keine Naturforscher – aber wir mussten das Grauseln einfach festhalten. Einrichtung: Es gibt keine Mini-Bar mit kalten Getränken, die Toilette war so dicht hinter die Duschkabine gesetzt, dass man nur mit eng zusammengepressten oder ineinander verknoteten Beinen darauf sitzen konnte. Über die gesamte Nacht vernimmt man neben dem liebevollen Maden-Holz-Geknusper die Lüftung draußen. Unser Zimmer lag direkt über dem Restaurant, sodass es abends sehr sehr laut, mit betrunkenen, laut gröhlenden Gästen wurde. Die Matratzen sind hart. Es ist ein SPA-Hotel und es gibt keine Bademäntel oder Latschen, um bequem in den Spa-Bereich zu kommen.

Service Empfang – der erste Mitarbeiter hat unseren Wunsch nach einem Zimmer mit Aussicht entsprochen. Der zweite Mitarbeiter war leider den Rest der Zeit anzutreffen. Der unfreundlichste und unverschämteste gäste-empfangene Mensch, den ich je erlebt habe. Seine Antwort zu den Holzkäfern habe ich bereits zitiert. Normalerweise bietet man, wenn es kein Ausweichzimmer gibt, ein Abendessen oder ähnliches als Entschädigung an. Da in der Hotelbroschüre promotet wurde, dass man nach Absprache den Check-out um 10 Uhr morgens verlängern kann, habe ich mich danach erkundigt. Mir wurde in einem unmöglichen Ton erwidert, wie ich überhaupt danach fragen könnte, der Check-out sei um 10 Uhr. Ich meinte daraufhin, dass das auf den Zimmern in der Hotel-Broschüre steht – der Empfangsmitarbeiter meinte, ich solle ihm das gefälligst zeigen. Man beachte den Tonfall. Als ich es ihm schwarz auf weiß zeigte, tat er so, als hätte er davon noch nie was gehört, meinte aber auch, dass ich kein Recht darauf hätte. Er war so fies und ich kann nicht den genauen Wortlaut widergeben, dass ich mich nicht ungehemmt getraut habe, in die öffentlichen Bereiche zu gehen.

Reinigung Als wir das Zimmer bezogen, lagen 5 riesige abgeschnittene Fuß- oder Fingernägel direkt vor dem Fenster. Diese wurden nach Bitten entfernt. Nachdem wir am ersten morgen zum Frühstück waren, kamen wir zurück und es war bereits eine Reinigungskraft drin (während wir frühstücken – es gab keine do-not-disturb-Schilder?). Sie verlies schnell das Zimmer, kam später auch nicht wieder, um ihre Arbeit zu beenden und vergaß ihren nassen und dreckigen Putzlappen auf meiner Bettdecke. Das geht wirklich gar nicht.

Frühstück / Restaurant Frühstück soll es bis 10 Uhr morgens geben. De facto wird aber nur bis 9.15 Uhr nachgelegt. Wenn man um 9.30 Uhr kommt, was keine unübliche Frühstückszeit ist, bekommt man keinen Obstsalat, kein Brot mehr. Es wird auch auf Bitten um Nachlegen gesagt, dass man die letzten Gäste sei, dafür würden sie nicht mehr nachlegen (auch wenn nach uns noch 4 weitere Gäste kamen). Das Frühstück ist sehr sehr sperrlich – für Vegetarier ziemlich unbefriedigend. Die Wurst berührte den Käse. Wir hatten kein Brot, haben 25 Minuten auf Rührei gewartet, keinen Quark und kein Obst mehr. Das Personal war unfreundlich. Nach diesem Erlebnis wollten wir dort auf gar keinen Fall dinieren.

Man hätte vieles mit Herzlichkeit und Entgegenkommen gut gemacht, aber uns als Gäste so zu behandeln, ist wirklich schade. Zumal die Terrasse und Aussicht wirklich...
