I visited Prague from Sunday, 17/11/2024 to Sunday, 24/11/2024 and stayed at Hotel U Divadla. I chose this hotel based on many positive reviews I read through while looking for a suitable hotel and location. I didn't have a particular part of Prague in mind beforehand. On arrival, which was late evening, I met Daria and her colleague at reception. I was greeted with a polite, friendly and warm welcome as both helped me settle in. The hotel is a lovely building in keeping with the general historical feel of Prague itself and the location was perfect for me, as I believe it would be for most visitors. You can walk into the centre (for example, Charles Bridge) in an hour, which I did most days. It's a beautiful walk along the river following the trams all the way. You can pop on a tram any time and will typically use No. 2, No. 17, or No. 27, all of which are a 5-minute walk from the hotel and go directly to the centre. The staff on reception will be very helpful with any enquiry you have regarding transportation; sites to visit around Prague and happy to answer any other enquiries. There is a lovely cafe (Perifere Cafe) just a 2-minute walk from the hotel. If you visit and stumble across the owner who speaks fluent English, please tell her Simon from Bristol sends his best! They do great food too. The ham and melted cheese toastie with a side salad was a particular favourite. Definitely try some of the sweets too, which are locally made by a neighbour and friend of the cafe owner. I can't remember the name of the sweet I had but it was delicious! Apparently, a lot of the 'older generation' in Czech like this desert, or so I was told. Its chocolate and yummy that's all I remember! As for Prague, what a truly beautiful city this is. I will certainly be visiting again. Hopefully soon and almost certainly choosing the same hotel and location. If you haven't yet visited this wonderful country, then you need to. There is so much more to explore both in and out of Prague. Finally, I agree with all the positive comments people have left about this hotel. I had the same experience and echo previous positive review sentiments. I am happy to leave this full, detailed review, as it is well deserved. Personally, it is always about the customer experience and that is down to the people you meet, and a great, friendly team awaits to greet you at Hotel U Divadla. Daria, thank you for bottle of red wine offered at the beginning of my stay. This was such a kind gesture and when I asked you why, you simply said "...because you are a nice person Simon, with a friendly personality so we would like you to have this." It is experiences like this that make something so memorable, so thank you very much. Thanks also for the discount vouchers offered when I checked out. I hope to make use of these and do plan a visit again, sometime within the next 6 months. I also enjoyed our chats during my stay and would ask you to convey my gratitude and best wishes to all the other members of staff who I spoke with and who made my stay such an enjoyable one. I will also leave a copy of this review on Trip Advisor. See you again soon! :) Simon, Bristol (UK), 55 yrs.

Outside of the city centre in a nice quiet area we weren’t disappointed .on artival we found the young man in reception to be very welcoming and efficient. He gave us a Prague pass and explained what us could be used for. We’d travelled from Budapest that day and were looking for somewhere to eat.The receptionist gave us a local map with recommendations on it. We chose an Italian restaurant 5 minutes walk away that served fabulous food. Our room was very clean and comfortable. There was a mini bar and a complimentary bottle of red wine. The breakfast selection was amazing. There was a variety of food with hot and cold options. The young waitress was very attentive and polite. We took the tram into the city centre. It was an easy walk from the hotel. We also discovered that as we were over 65 years old we didn’t have to pay to use the tram . At check out we were given a €20 voucher to use if we booked with Czeck Inns again.. complimentary cookies were also given to us as we left . If we ever decide to visit Prague again we would choose to stay in this hotel. The service was tip top . Well done Hotel U Divadla and staff .

After a long day of travel due to flight cancellations, we arrived at a hotel with friendly, helpful staff who provided useful information about local sights and food options in Prague. We were given a discount pass for attractions and a voucher for a drink at a sister hotel, offering panoramic views of the city, which was enjoyable despite light rain. The room was comfortable and clean, with lovely heating to combat the cold temperatures outside. Although we didn't use the mini-fridge, it was a nice touch. Breakfast offered a great selection, including hot and continental options, and drinks like coffee, tea, and a variety of milk options, including soy and coconut milk, which I appreciated. The location was convenient, with a short walk to the tram station and only a 10-minute tram ride to the old town. Public transport was affordable and efficient. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its great staff, comfort, cleanliness, and excellent value. I would definitely stay again.

Just 3* hotel (no air condition in the room, just a bit ordinary breakfast) "Juice" during breakfast was just parody During check-in was very rude young receptionist. I gave him passports from all the group (we booked 3 rooms) and he started monologue that everything is suspicious to him and if he decides, next day will come foreigners police. Just without any reason he started to threat us. I told him to do his job, take required details, give us key. Then he again started his monologue on this this topic for another 3 minutes and in the end he gave us key cards and told: "I'm just doing my job". I would love to know, what does that mean... After about one hour came 2 extremely helpful and professional officers from foreigners police, they just looked at our passports and with apologies for bothering quickly left. Receptionist looked so satisfied with a big smile. I sent complaint by email to the senior manager of operating company. I got only information that receptionist was working in line with laws and was supposed to contact with suspicion foreigners police. I asked in second email what was that suspicious that hotel receptionist had to immediately contact police after our arrival of 3 families to already prepaid rooms. No reply received within last 2 weeks. In my opinion, receptionist wanted to be just important (and looked really enjoying his position) because arrival was on the weekend and no manager was available. So be careful, in this hotel can be everyone suspicious without any explanation. Also we were overcharged with municipal fees by that self confident receptionist, I was promised by senior manager to refund amount back to the bank account but again nothing happened...
