Resort: We like it better than any of the other three different resorts and eight times in Jamaica at all adult all-inclusive same price range. First time to a "Breathless". Great value for this price range. Feeling safe and genuinely cared for. Workers always cleaning, painting, or making things nice. Tipping is an option, but we tip $1 for each drink and $5 after each meal (no tip jars are setting out anywhere). Everything is well maintained and clean. Swim up bar and main freestyle pool bar is well liquors active younger people area and has daytime entertainment. Plenty to do if you are in your 20s and 30s years of age at the main freestyle pool. Pools are immaculate. No files, gnats, or bugs in general anywhere. The lobby bar near the main stage (called "Wink") has a better choice of liquor. The “Rock show" performance is great with different entertainment nightly at 9:30 also a neon dance party at night on the freestyle pool deck. Pool / beach food and drink service. Plush large beach towels provided. Every room has a private hot tub on the patio. The room is cleaned every day with evening turn down service. Three story buildings spread out over larger property versus a high rise. To and from airport travel arrangements through Amstar is convenient (40 minute bus ride from PUJ international airport). Short sales pitch at resort for excursions and then coupons offered for extras at resort like the spa etc. after listening to representative. Download free "Hyatt inclusive" app is needed for all resort information and restaurant menus. Most other guests we are meeting seem to be from the Midwest USA and a few from Canada. Most TV channels are in Spanish, connect to YouTube or other familiar app. Free resort Wi-Fi seems spotty but strong signal in room. Two times we did not have hot water at our private hot tub on our patio. "Xhale Club" is a must: Worth every penny. One small bar area in center of resort near tropical view rooms with one small pool and hot tub. Main Club near the beach with bigger bar open 7a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and larger pool area mostly over 40's years of age and more laid back. Top shelf liquor Gray Goose, Belvedere, Patron silver, Crown Royal, Jack Daniels, Johnnie Walker Black, Bombay and Tanqueray, Coors light, Heineken, Corona. Most of the rest of the resort is just basic booze and only Presidente beer (Dominican Republic local brand). Designated restaurant for breakfast and lunch with table service (QR code for menu) as well as separate breakfast buffet (busier after 9:00 a.m.). 24-hour room service. Slippers, robes, umbrella, and beach bag provided. Regardless of which room chosen, all amenities are the same for all exhale club members. No identifying wristband required to wear but will be asked by staff occasionally at restaurants, clubs, and pools for room number. On site golf cart transportation offered. Free sunscreen is available at the poolside if you run out. Our concierge "Abraham" always available to assist with any needs and seems to pop up everywhere on the resort helping however he can. Download free "WhatsApp" is how concierges communicate with you. Beach: clean, no seaweed, light brown soft sand, some very large rocks in the water but easy to see and plenty of area to swim without any rocks, crystal clear water, resort approved vendors occasionally walking by with various items for sale. Dreams resort next door: included with but has kids, lunch buffet is 20 yards from Breathless main Xhale club bar. Water slides and stage in pool area. Minimal number of rafts provided for lazy river bring your own flotation device or buy at gift shop. Adult buffet is shared with breathless main buffet (Spoon). Weather: It seems to rain a little every morning early but 85° and sunny during the day and 75° at night low humidity. The weather forecast was not accurate. Food: All the food is good, some is great. Plenty of options. Not enough time to try all the restaurant options. Coquette - (French restaurant) beef filet and duck confit. Read moreended up in room 4311 at Breathless Resort. This morning I woke up horrified! I dreamed it was glass still on my arm from the cuts from the shards of glasses from the door at the escort still. From the day I got to the resort on May 1st and waited an hour only to be told they didn't know I was waiting at the front desk even though they were the ones who told us to sit there. I was told I'll get upgraded to ocean view, but later told it was only supposed to be a partial ocean view. Needless to say I got a pool view and the ocean was around the corner from me. To be separated from the rest of the people who came. I went upstairs to my room and walked through checking things out. As I opened the bathroom door the glass shattered all over me. As I stood there stunned my partner ran to me. I calmly told him to get help, due to language barrier I don't think they realized how much I needed help. A concierge came in and she sprang into action and got me another room and a doctor. As I walked slowly down the hall because I was feeling the glass cut me and in my shoes and clothes. My partner jumped in the shower with me to help wash the glass out my hair to make sure it didn't get in my eyes. I was escorted to medical and the doctor picked out more glass and applied cream. I finally got to my room and took the pain meds and went to see my friends who were worried about me.The next day I went to the gym with my partner I had to wear flip flops and socks due to the glass still in my shoes. I was there all of twenty minutes and a guy came to me and told me I couldn't be in there with the shoes on. I explained it was glasses in my only pair of gym shoes due to what happened. He told me to go buy more shoes or I had to go and that I needed to tell my partner to come downstairs. Defeated, we just left! I then asked if my shoes and clothes could be washed so that I was not traveling with glass clothes. I was told my clothes were free due to the situation, so I said thank you. I was told to leave my bags and that my now concierge,Kelly(whom I had been waiting to talk to all day it felt like at times) and that she would have the bellman pick up our bags. As I tried to check out I was told by Paola I had a balance of 13.00 for my laundry and I needed to pay before I could leave. I explained that I was told it would be taken care of by management. She then sent me to talk to a man because the concierge was busy, he then sent me to the concierge anyway because he couldn't help. I told Gearwydis what happened, she called and spoke with management and told me it is okay. I asked my partner to go check out while I asked her to speak with a manager. She informed me managers were all in meetings and I had to send an email. My partner came back and said Poaola still refused to check us out. I walked over and told her that Gearwydis said I was cleared. She yelled at me and said it is not cleared in her system and that I couldn't get checked out until it does. I firmly told her she was very unprofessional as she walked over to Gearwydis (which she could have done in the first place.) who then tells her that I am cleared. She takes my key and rolls her eyes. I tell my partner to make sure our bags are in transportation because I felt everything has been going bad. Sure enough our bags were not in there. I was told by the bell man that they were never told! Meanwhile I was texting Kelly telling her what was going on. The transportation was emailing my friend saying they were not going to take us to the airport because we were taking too long. The bell man talked to the guy and told him don't. We finally were able to leave! As I got off the plane to come home I looked around and realized our jackets were not picked up. Due to my scars, rude customer service, and traumatic experience at Breathless I need compensation! I would like to handle this through us privately. Ms. Shannon Harris

My wife and I stayed at Breathless Punta Cana for 10 days on our honeymoon, booking with credit card points. While we enjoyed our stay, if we had paid out of pocket, we likely would have been disappointed. Breathless guests have access to Dreams Onyx Resort next door, which became a highlight of our trip, though it underscored some shortcomings of Breathless. Surprisingly, many guests didn’t know about this perk due to its brief mention at check-in. Room Our room was clean and comfortable, with excellent housekeeping. The bathroom and bed were great, and the minibar was consistently stocked. However, we encountered a lack of amenities: the TV offered only basic cable, and the internet was too slow for streaming, which was frustrating on rainy days. The hot tub on the porch was leaky, and despite maintenance, it wasn’t fully fixed. Thin walls meant we could hear everything from neighboring rooms and hallways, including late-night noise from other guests. Walkways across both resorts became slippery when wet, but Dreams took proactive measures with cleaning and carpet mats. Breathless only placed “Wet Floor” signs, leading to slips and falls. Amenities Pools While many rooms are near pools, the Freestyle Pool at Breathless was ruined for us by excessively loud music. Even staff at Dreams noted how quiet their resort was in comparison. The main pool had a better vibe with plenty of seating and a swim-up bar. Disappointingly, none of the hot tubs were heated. The Dreams pools were cleaner, warmer, and more inviting. We appreciated their variety, including a water park with slides and a lazy river. Unlike Breathless, where pools often had leaves and debris, the Dreams pools were immaculate and consistently maintained. Beach The beach experience was identical for both resorts: beautiful water and clean sand, but relentless vendors diminished the experience. Despite Breathless advertising a “private beach,” the public nature of the space meant constant interruptions. Casino The casino was underwhelming. Staff seemed disengaged, and voucher instructions were unclear. First-time gamblers lacked guidance, and overall energy was low, making the experience unpleasant. Food and Drink Buffet Spoon, the Breathless buffet, was chaotic at breakfast and often ran out of popular items. The setup—requiring a waiter to seat you—felt unnecessary. There were frequent issues with missing silverware and unclear food labels. Comparatively, the Dreams buffet was better organized, offered vegan options, and had clearer signage. Restaurants Some restaurants at Breathless were great, like the French and grill options, but others were inconsistent. The Italian restaurant had poor service, and the Asian restaurant was overly loud. Random dance performances at restaurants felt distracting and, in some cases, culturally tone-deaf. At Dreams, the Mediterranean and Mexican restaurants stood out for their superior food and service. Even small details, like cleaner restrooms, elevated the dining experience there. Room Service The menu was limited, and quality varied. Our worst meal was a poorly executed Eggs Benedict, though the concierge offered a free lobster dinner as compensation. Bars The bar staff was friendly, with one waiter, Angel, memorably going above and beyond. Drinks were typically weaker but customizable if requested. Service Service at Breathless was mixed. The concierges were responsive and helpful, but language barriers occasionally caused issues. Housekeeping was excellent, and bar staff were attentive, but restaurant servers often felt rushed and inattentive. A stark difference was the demeanor of staff between resorts. Dreams staff appeared happy and engaged, creating a positive atmosphere, while Breathless staff often seemed discontent. Final Thoughts Breathless is tailored for adults seeking a party vibe, but Dreams stood out as cleaner, quieter, and more enjoyable overall. While we appreciated aspects of Breathless, we were glad to have used points rather than...
