Hotel Macao Millon — Hotel in Higüey

Authentic DR experience with great value for the prices. The place is luxurious with large rooms and king size beds. The pools are beautiful. 7 minutes walk to the beach. My partner and I travelled through DR for a month. We decided to extend our stay and booked Punta Cana Macao Guest House through Airbnb. We were staying at Hotel Millon Macao but I decided to go 1 day before our reservation bcuz we were looking forward to doing some excursions with Eulises. We dropped off our luggage around 2pm. Came back to check in around 4pm. The room is small w/o ac but I was excited to meet local people and go see places with the host. We sat down and the mattress sank 5-6 inches. We looked at each other and said "Back pain". At the same time very loud music from the liquor store that's about 150 feet away from the building which the window is facing started blasting. Avoid the PCM guest house they took our money. Now we have to spend time with dispute. We came back to Hotel Million Macao and Manuel greeted us like family. Clean, quiet and safe. My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights after spending a few nights at an all inclusive resort up the road. This is a much more authentic experience. This quaint place is run by a very friendly and accommodating family. They drove us down to the beach and on another errand. The beautiful Macao beach is a ten minute walk. Our room and bathroom were very spacious and had a large king bed. The wifi is fast. There was a flat screen TV in our room connected to Netflix which was nice. The small restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu is pretty limited but seafood is some of the best we've had. We had fish several times and lobster once.
