Lorca Residence — Hotel in Higüey

I am a Canadian and nomad photographer, which means I travel the world to take great shots. I specialized into helping aspiring people have access to quality photoshoot for their personal endeavours. Basically, I help people build self-confidence and properly promote themselves online, on social media, with competitive content. I do it for free, in exchange of adding content to my own social media accounts. I specialize in food posts, fitness, boudoir, and clothing. I also have friends and family in DR and go to weddings and birthdays.

I stayed there about 15 times in 4 years and for over 5000$. I was always a great client, no complaints, nothing broken, respected every rules. Then management started accusing me of things without proofs, Just because I do photography (food mostly, and friends). Starting rumours, without checking facts with me. They refused to erase my data (as per their own offer on their website), ignore emails, told me they were full but then rented to my Dominican friends. This is just rude and wrong practices.

I cooked and made coffee for the security and cleaning staff every single day, left pots, pans, utensils, water jugs, clothes, hygiene items, etc... at every stay. I always invited only friends, always the same people, provided ID at front desk. I never took an illegal photo or mentioned Lorca. Simply because I carried a light, a tripod, and a good camera, they started stories on me and my friends.

Really poor practices, the owner himself bring young girls on the roof and he is a university teacher. That rooftop unit is advertise on site, but it is not possible to rent, he keeps it for his own parties, check it yourself.

I showed every single photo, explained myself, and when they saw they were wrong, they did not even say sorry and just blocked me. Really bad practices for a business. I guess it is tolerated in RD, but it would not be in many other countries, so they get away with it. They recently opened a bar downtown and it is also packed with young girls, seems to be how they attract them.

Stay away from this place and the Guerrero family (owners, father and son Carlos)

I always brought the same individuals, never hide or lied, respected all rules, both of the property and on a professional photograph level. I traveled the world and never had any problem with any hotel except there. I even landed money to a lady at the front desk (Lisette) and never got refunded. I am a hell of a nice person and I do what I do as a way to help others, which makes this entire story really horrible.

They never bothered to check any facts with me. They just don’t care about their clients, if not Dominicans. They also lie and accuse clients, encourage old men visiting with young girls, advertise a room on the roof that is false (never available), and make comments that hurt their client’s reputation. There is many great airbnb in Higuey, great hotels, go to Hotel Rod, or Hotel Monarca, or anywhere but the Lorca residences. I am only giving 1 star to this Lorca Residence because these people are extremely RACISTTTTTT. Please stayy awayyyyy if you don't want to end up sleeping in the street. This people can cancel your reservation without even ask them to, and look for little pity things to tell yo that was the case of the cancellation. They have the AUDACITY to tell usbecause we have kids they cannot take us, which is unfair and a lie because their website did not mention ANYTHING!!!! about not bringing your kids. We came from all the way to United State of America trying to have a little family vacation and going to a Wedding the next day. THEY RUIN EVERYTHING after hours and hours of flying and hours of hoursss!!! of driving. We travel every year, for the first time we ever have a TERRIBLE experience like that one. They make us wait for 2 Hours inside their lobby, for no reason, it' like we were begging them for somewhere to sleep, we even tell them we will pay extra. Their Customer service is HORRIBLE!!!!!! Again please and please if you don't want to sleep in the street in the middle of nowhere STAY AWAY, !!!!

Solo le doy 1 estrella a esta Residencia de Lorca porque estas personas son extremadamente RACISTTTTTTT. Por favor, quédate lejos si no quieres terminar durmiendo en la calle. Esta gente puede cancelar su reserva sin siquiera pedirles que lo hagan, y buscar pequeñas cosas de lástima para decirle que ese fue el caso de la cancelación. Tienen la AUDACIDAD para decirnos porque tenemos niños que no pueden llevarnos, lo cual es injusto y una mentira porque su sitio web no mencionó NADA. por no traer a tus hijos. Vinimos de todo el camino a Estados Unidos de América tratando de tener unas pequeñas vacaciones familiares e ir a una boda al día siguiente. ¡RUINAN TODO después de horas y horas de vuelo y horas de trabajo! de conducir Viajamos todos los años, por primera vez tenemos una experiencia TERRIBLE como esa. Nos hacen esperar 2 horas dentro de su lobby, sin ninguna razón, es como si les estuviéramos pidiendo un lugar para dormir, incluso les decimos que pagaremos más. ¡¡¡¡¡¡Su servicio al cliente es horrible!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!! Really disappointed with this company. They were very rude and was talking down on us like we were nothing. No sign of compassion or understanding. I have never met a hotel company that does not want service. Though we were a lot we were willing to pay extra for the amount of people we had to stay at the hotel. We reserved the penthouse suite and because we had mothers with children, they discriminated and did not want to accommodate the kids. We were forced to leave and find other place to stay.
