Everybody know it, the little town Boca Chica is very famous for the long history as the closeby beach town of Santo Domingo, it famous for his beach side with white sand and the crowd of chicas, waiting for the weekend tourists. During the weekend there are thousands of rich locals directly from Santo Domingo, who visit the town just for enjoy the beach with loud music and drinking. While the week days there are only a handful of tourist and older residents with their younger chicas. The Hotel Club Rolling Stone is located at the end of the line of a hotels at the beach side. It has directly access to his own beach. You can enjoy your own terrace with roof to protect you from rain. During daytime the location is very bussy and full of crowd, the locals are very loud with their music. You can handle this, if you stay at your own terrace and visit the beach after the people leave it in the late evening and night. The beach and landscape view is a little bit different with direct view to the big harbor of Santo Domingo. Sometimes they have place traffice from the nearby airport too. The beach is very clean, the sand is fine grained and near to white, they clean the beach every day! The water quality is good, just better than some years before. At the weekend the beach side is full with local crowd, it's a little bit heavy traffic all around and in the city. The water is quiet and calm, you will enjoy it! The direct view to the harbor of Santo Domingo shows, that there are a lot of problems with the enviroment. The locals made a lot of trash too. They have a lot of police around the beach side, that could be sign of a lot pickpocketing. So you need be aware of your stuff and money. There are a lot of properties which are empty and abandoned. By the end, Boca Chica is a very typically Dominican tourist town, the hotel too.

The hotel is truly lovely, from the vibe to the people. Its decorations and ambiance remind me of the Mediterranean in the good old days. The location is prime, beachfront and walking distance to everything in the small town. Even though the beach can be busy with local people on holiday or in the afternoon, it's peaceful and beautiful in the morning. The room amenities are old but functional and clean. The highlight is definitely their staff who are friendly, hardworking, understanding, and helpful. A bonus point is that guests can use the paddle for free and can also book the guided tour to see the coral and mangrove. A pleasant stay and great value for the money. But Boca Chica itselt can be intimidating for tourists.

Great location and price. Free use of paddle boards. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off and clean restrooms by the restaurant. Breakfast is at the attached restaurant and is included. Didn't seem to have breakfast hours, we showed up anywhere between 8am and 10 and were able to order complimentary breakfast. Roku TV in the room! We were able to watch our Netflix and paired our cell phone so we could stream the rugby game. House keeper did a fantastic job cleaning the room. It smelled super clean. Shared kitchen area upstairs. We kept our food in the fridge there. Also there is a jug of drinking water we used to fill our water bottles.

We flew into Dominica Republic on Jan. 12, 2018 and rented a car. We had a reservation here for one evening prior to driving to Punta Cana. As we approached the location, per google maps, we found ourselves on a dark, one way street looking for a hotel sign. We drove right past it. One block away, Individuals started approaching our vehicle and coming up to the window. I said "Club Rolling Stone". An individual proceded to guide us to a dirt lot which was chained off. You can view the dirt lot on google maps. Another individual started unhooking the chain to guide us into a dark parking area in which only two cars existed with many people lurking in the dark. It was very unwelcoming and made me nervous having the sense that we were being led into a trap with no escape after the chain would be re-attached to the pole. Fearing for our safety, I had no choice but to squeal the tires and get the hell out of there. We decided to head back to the airport and sleep in the rental car until morning. I hope the owner reads this, someday, and makes contact. Better yet, refunds our money. It's a very unwelcoming atmosphere just getting to this place. It might be charming inside, but we never made that far. The owner should be aware of the sense of being TRAPPED presented to the clients. YOU DON'T CHAIN IN YOUR CLIENTS as they arrive at your establishment in a dark, unattended, fence enclosed, dirt field with partying street walkers approaching their vehicles and directing them to the party. We were tired and simply wanted to temporarily rest in a quiet room. NOT guard our bags and vehicle along with having concerns for our safety. How this place has such a high rating is beyond me. Perhaps because we never even made it inside. To all that visit here, be prepared for a scary approach. It's safe to assume that the inside is much much nicer than what appears on the outside. But I wasn't prepared to take the risk with what I was sensing here. Happy...

Start with the positive. The staff is great! Very attentive and like friends you've known for a lifetime. Angelo, Papiro and Vilodio were the best things about the place. The food and drinks were very nice. We were able to go paddle boarding and relax on the beach. When we needed to get a refund for our stay, the office staff was very accommodating.

Now the negatives: I'm not sure who is handling the ads for the travel sites. But, the pictures are very misleading. The sign to the "hotel" (it's more like a motel attached to a pretty restaurant), is hard to see. I have always judged a hotel by it's lobby. If the lobby looks bad, the rest of the place looks bad. The lobby looks bad. Maybe we were just given a bad room. The bed is super old and dirty. (We were told " that's the reasons for the mattress pads") Whaaaaattt!!!??? It needs a serious upgrade. There was an AC window unit right above our bed covered with curtains. So the air flow was blocked. My husband and I just felt damp and clammy while we were there. But not cooled down! The shower head needed to be replaced. And there's a garbage pile off to the side sitting right on the beach. After two nights there we were done! When we mentioned that we were changing hotels. We were offered another room. No thanks!! It's a shame. This could be so much easier. But I have to say, if they spent the money they are earning into the actual rooms they could probably charge more. The staff is working hard and doing their job well. The owners need to...
