ATHENE MOON — Hotel in Baños de Agua Santa

Very nice staff, beautiful and clean rooms with comfortable beds, very good Wi-Fi, Netflix on TV, relaxing community area and kitchen, hot shower with more than enough water pressure. The hostel is in a very good area (directly in the city center). Unfortunately kind of loud at evening/night, as the windows are very thin and towards a street, but we slept very good anyways. No breakfast, but on the other side of the road is a very nice "Swiss Bistro" where you can get good breakfast (also if you like to sleep a little longer). We liked it a lot here and would definitely recommend it! We've been to a few places in Ecuador in the last two weeks, most of them hostels, and this is probably the nicest one! It is a good hostel with a great owner, Dario (you won't find someone nicer). The WiFi is very fast and the rooms are comfortable. The kitchen is typical for hostels. When you read reviews about it being "quiet," that is an understatement. Most people come as a couple or as a group. It is not really a social hostel. However, Dario is cool and sociable. I ended up meeting people in town to hang out with. It could be cleaner, and I did find a couple of bed bugs my first night but they were immediately taken care of and that was likely from a previous traveler. Athene Moon is incredible, it is a MUST stay hostel in Baños! The location is great and the hostel top rated for a reason. While the hostel isn’t luxurious or overly trendy, it is Freddy and Dario (owners and hosts) that make it amazing. Momo the dog is a great addition, so friendly!
