Samari Spa Resort — Hotel in Baños de Agua Santa

Thank you Sebastian and the entire team at this resort. My family and I were on a last minute trip and thus looking for a decent place to stay. Since most of the city was sold out we were feeling hopeless and unsure of our next step. Luckily, I saw that this resort had availability! Upon arrival the room type I booked (3 bed room) was sold out but Sebastian saved the day by getting my family 2 rooms instead and he saved the day and our trip!!! Our family was more than happy with the service provided, I can confidently say that Samari will be our go to hotel and resort in Ambato. From the breakfast buffet options, to the hospitality provided by the spa/pool ladies, we had a great time. One thing that stuck out to me was when my grandmother made her way to the spa and due to a change of plans we had to reach the entrance level and leave the hotel. The spa lady (I wish I got her name) did not hesitate but to call a guy to drive my grandma from the spa level to her room entrance!! My grandma has a hard time getting around and going up and down stairs. I was beyond happy that this accommodation was quickly offered without hesitation. The spa lady overheard our situation and provided resolution promptly!! That’s the kind of service that define and contributes to the luxury brand. I was able to thank Sebastian and staff for all the hospitality prior to our departure so I hope upper management sees this and acknowledges his hospitality as well. I noticed that the same staff members take leadership of different roles so I commend them all for providing the excellent service that they do and with a smile!! As well as each staff member executed multiple job roles, I wish the hotel would hire more staff. The property did seem a little empty and each face met became familiar quickly due to each member taking leadership of each role. My partner and I recently stayed at Samari Spa and Resort in Baños, Ecuador, and our experience was nothing short of extraordinary. As an LGBTQ (gay male) couple, we are always mindful of the reception we may receive when traveling, but the team at Samari Spa went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and celebrated.

From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Every interaction was marked by kindness and respect, creating an atmosphere where we felt completely at ease. It was clear that Samari Spa values diversity and inclusivity, making it a standout destination for travelers of all backgrounds.

The resort itself is a stunning retreat, nestled in the lush beauty of Baños. The serene gardens, luxurious spa, and beautifully appointed rooms offered the perfect blend of relaxation and indulgence. We especially loved the thermal pools, which provided a tranquil escape after days of exploring the breathtaking surroundings.

What truly sets Samari Spa apart, however, is the heart and thoughtfulness of the people who work there. Special thanks to cristián, Dora, Mayra, Sebastien, and the owner, Tania. From personalized recommendations for local attractions to their impeccable service, they exceeded our expectations at every turn. The food is outstanding. This should be a Michelin Star resort.

My husband and I recently tried a massage service @ Samari spa & resort ( Holistic spa package:1hr 30 m ) that was overall quite pleasant, but unfortunately not as effective as I had hoped. The ambiance was soothing—soft lighting, calming music, and a peaceful atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The therapist was friendly and professional, but she was not taking the time to ask about any specific areas of tension or discomfort.

The massage itself was relaxing, and the pressure was just right for an stress-relieving experience. However, despite the enjoyable nature of the session, I didn’t feel much relief from the muscular tightness I had been hoping to address. The techniques seemed to be more surface-level, focusing more on general relaxation rather than targeting deep tissue.

While it was a nice way to unwind and certainly helped with mild stress, I didn’t feel the lasting benefits I’ve come to expect from Holistic massages. It was a good experience for relaxation, but if you’re looking for more intense muscle relief or a solution to chronic pain, this might not be the best fit.
